Florida wasn't that good. They just want to win. Our boys just seem like they think it would nice to win but not at the cost of not enjoying the summer break.

In the Playoffs the dump ins increase, the puck battles increase and the scoring chances from rush plays go down.

Matthews and Marner haven't shown to be able to consistently produce offensively in the big games or big moments.

We battled hard these playoffs and for stretchs it didn't look pretty but at the end of the day your main difference makers need to come through if you want to win 4 hard playoff series and ours didn't.

Feels crazy to say it but I think a Matthews trade should certainly be a topic that is discussed when you factor in his soon to be UFA status and having a no trade clause that kicks in July 1st.

You can't spot another team 3 games and then decide you want to join the series. Just doesn't work that way. I am not going to say that we should or shouldn't blow it up...but our team needs to get significantly faster. Ironic isn't it.

I hope this is finally the summer where bold changes are coming…we need to build a core of winners. Reilly and Nylander we keep but Marner-Matthews just can’t perform in big moments…their like Joe Thornton..their level of play in the playoffs takes a step down. JT we’re stuck with for now anyway
