Leafs literally have thousands of fans in the street ready to celebrate. I am sure the 10 fans and family and friends are living large in south beach tonight.
Dude , all of HFboards are having multiple orgasms (for the first time) in their parents basement right now.

All successful players, teams, coaches, racecar drivers, etc. bend the rules and cheat a little.

How has taking the higher road and playing straight up, avoiding confrontation, etc. worked out for the Leafs over the last however many years.
Sure, as it turned out it was a great play by Gudas, but if the ref was watching and called the penalty, he could have easily been the goat.

I still can't get over the goal that was ruled no goal. All the non penalties when there was clearly charging etc. It's pretty much unwatchable when you add in Marner doing nothing but sabotaging your team and Matthews mailing it in.

Who cares if it was no goal? It sucks, but the Leafs don't deserve any positive breaks the way they played this series. They were an embarrassment to start the series.

If he had any credibility it starts with calling out the Refs and league decision on the goal. No sports writer worth a grain of salt can avoid those things in the write up. If the do it, they are doing it because they are acting schills.
They're reporters in the sense of being talking heads for the higher ups

Matthews was for sure injured, and perhaps out of shape this year. Really hard to tell what was going on with him this season.

Given that he had a down year I’d be concerned that he’s going to want to sign a contract after next year. If that’s the case, I think we trade him.

The refs give a lot in these circumstances but generally speaking breaking the rule that involves a scoring chance results in a penalty. He literally reached and grabbed a defending players stick from preventing the puck carrier from getting a clean shot. The clean shot that went in

In a vacuum it's a terrible non-call that cost a team a series, regardless of how they have play until that point.

NHL officiating shines through again. Bush league.

I don't get how people defend it anymore.

"It's not a conspiracy against the Leafs bro"

Well no but when calls or non calls are deciding literal playoff series two seasons in a row just do your f***in job a little better

Has anyone in the media talked about the blatant interference by Gudas? It's astonishing that the panel watched it and just remained silent about it.

Well f***. Honestly though I thought the team played a great game, were the better team by a wide margin, just didn’t get the bounces (or the calls). And for the series as a whole, really every game could have gone either way, all down to the wire.

This is the first playoffs with this group where I thought we played very well. Tampa and Florida are both strong teams, both series were super even. We got the bounces vs. Tampa, didn’t get them vs. Florida. I was on team “blow it up” after the Columbus and Montreal series, but honestly this year we played well IMO.

I’d fire Keefe, and make some changes to the roster, but certainly wouldn’t blow it up. Highest impact change would be paying someone to take JT, and making way better use of that cap, but realistically there’s likely very little chance he waives his NMC.
If we could remove JT we could make some serious improvements. Bummer it’ll never happen.

I’m trading Marner. He’s phenomenal in the regular season. Like 10/10, I’d go so far as to call him the 2nd best playmaker in the league. Amazing defensively and on the PK. But just useless in the playoffs.

Firing Keefe for sure. I’m unclear on Dubas.

Matthews is tough. Injury history + probably going to want a huge contract or wait until after next season when he probably has a huge season. We can’t take the risk.

I’m also surprised to see that this was the year you thought we played well. I thought we played awful in both series, aside from 10min stretches at the end of the 3rd here and there. We got lucky against Tampa.

Eh yo chill

Tavares sucks for a superstar pay player but Orr never put up 0.5ppg in any tracked league he played in (CHL, ahL, ECHL, and NHL obviously)

Playing him beyond 3 mins resulted in your team getting f***ed.

He was a great fighter but a poor hockey player and at 3M you have an unplayable player wasting 3M

Tavares is overpaid by 3M but his 70-80 pts at least look nice and help the team in the reg season
I loved Orr but you're right he doesn't have place in the current NHL. saying that Matt Martín does. If you look at past history I can tell you Bennet and Tkachuk wanted no part him and Matt wouldn't have been much of a downgrade on Lafferty.

You would think Rogers and bell the two main media whore ass f***ers in Canada who own stakes in the leafs would try to say something (let people say something)....very weird... It's one big confusing cluster f***.

Second year in a row we lose on a missed call for the GWG
