Tavares was starting significantly less in the offensive than Marner.Clearly the fact that our two best players missed 5 games between them and our best goalie was injured had nothing to do with having "arguably our worst series", in which we still made it to OT in game 7.
If you look at playoff production compared to regular season for the big four, I seem to recall that JT had the biggest % dropoff, followed by Mitch and Matty, with Willy having the least, by a lot. (But that doesn't fit your notbias, does it?)
Tavares - 11 offensive zone, 23 neutral , 25 defensive
Marner - 31 offensive zone, 18 neutral, 16 defensive zone
