Post-Game Talk: Leafs complete their annual October punking by LA

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Mitch needs a few more Empty net goals to pad his stats. Talk about an embarrassing month for the best RWer to ever play the game. He's got lots of work to do to win the Selke let alone the Hart as one poster predicted.

People are so dramatic. At some point soon Marner is going to go on a streak that sees him get 12 points in 5 games or something like that, and then people will have to go back complaining about something else they don't like about him.

Da Kings are a Cup contender with Avs and Vegas this year .. da views from da cheap seats last night showed a big fast nasty Kings team, especially on their D, just choking out our skilled Leaf forwards .. Kings will be a tough out in playoffs with that D .. just another good picture for Tree to witness last night .. we need almost a complete revamp of our D before playoffs .. right now we got Rielly Lily and McCabe and that's it folks .. Gio and Brodie are washed .. Klinberg is damaged goods and has lost 3 or 4 steps this year .. hope he goes on LTIR soon .. get to work Tree .. as you know D wins when games get to 0-0 battles in playoffs
Yup and I need to with the lottery. Not happening.

If I used that excuse in my job I wouldn't last very long. Employers in the real world expect an acceptable performance level no matter what's going on with home life. These players have no accountability to their employer or their fans.
Their world and yours are vastly different, not comparable at all but they do have accountability, it's just different than yours.

Somebody will trade for Brodie like Dubie in Pitts, hahhahahha, and Klinberg will go on LTIR .. Timmer will come back and provide a better version of Klinberg much cheaper .. 2 big fast nasty D need to come in and entire picture of our D will look different .. it is an AHL D right now as I told you guys before season started

The team came from a long road trip... the 1st home game after most of the time is the hardest one... they came back i their family, child didn't saw their father last 10 days so they want to spend time with it, their wife or girlfriend want to see him involve in the house, etc...

Shiuld that be really surprising than leafs level of energy was at his lower this season?!?!?!

Youre adding they gave up an unlucky 1st goal, LAK scored a 2nd goal, nothing to help to bring energy in that game... yeah its those kind of game pretty hard for everyone.

If they are playing that way thursday vs Boston, i will be a little bit more concern than this one..

Yes they could be better in october like they could be worst ( # oilers) but at the end 5-3-1 but at the end that still 100 pts space... its okay and leafs will still continu to grow up ans build chemistry
Returning from Sweden should be fun.

They are no longer the YOUNG and developing team of the future. They are an older experienced team who by now should understand how to play every fame. Tavaras out works almost everyone, every night. Bertuzzi, Domi, the new experienced regulars who should be leaders in work effort have 10 games in proved to be not as advertised.
Domi has played maybe 3 periods of inspired hockey, Bertuzzi maybe 6.
Time to bring along Robertson, McMann etc and end the bring home Toronto Boys experiment.

Sign a contract that pays you tens of millions of dollars and you're guaranteed to get the money whether you put in any effort or not. You know what, now that I think about it you're absolutely right, that is "different".:laugh:

Meanwhile in Boston, Pasta just keeps on getting it done. No Bergeron or Krejci, no problem.

Bringing in Holmberg. Robbie and McMann is like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. Either give it more time or bring in something significant (and not a rental) IMO.

What is your point?

Nothing will truly change until we don't have 3 x 11mil players on the books. I am at peace with that.

I understand the Marner hate, but the season is young, give him some time, I still think he ends up being the better player than Nylander this year, even though Nylander looks amazing.

Vatrano is currently a similar player to Kucherov...

Jesper Bratt is outproducing Pastrnak...

Not sure either of those will stay true.

I bet they get bounced first round like they did with a very similar team last year.

He will be fine .. he toured round Europe all summer long and got a little fat and happy with his new bride .. it happens every year to someone .. remember last year Matty came in 20 lbs overweight due to an injury and it took him 25 games to get back in shape .. this is preseason hockey now and i would not worry about Mitch .. he will get his game shape back in a few more games .. rest easy folks

Vatrano is such an interesting situation. Scores everywhere he goes, but never stays anywhere.

Bratt, on the other hand, might actually end up being not far off Pastrnak. Dude is going to rack up the points playing with Jack Hughes.

You guys want players who will show up in the playoffs but then write them off after 10 games of regular season hockey. Bertuzzi played hurt for the majority of those as well btw.

Bertuzzi is a dress and forget player. Focus on other things.

They are human and even if you want to say it, its impossible youre being at 100% all the time, every day at your Job... some day you will be more better than other and its normal.

Exemple your baby cried all night long and you didn't slept pretty well, thats will affect your productivity. Being at 80-85% vs 100% most of the time its when we say at team had bren outwork. We dont talk about a team being at 30-60% but just losing 20% of his energy. Thats making all the difference of the world

Domi i dont know what youre expected, he did it during all his carreer...

Bertuzzi is not a lack of work sorry, but he was looking lost at time on the ice. Its different

Tavares outwork over 99% of NHL player and thats why he had that kind of carreer and why hes the captain. Just few player was working as hard than he did. We can blame jt for a lot of things past years but certainly not for his work ethic.

MacKinnon and Landeskog have a ton of "will", lots more than Matthews and Marner.

Maybe, but who can tell?

Just because they play a rougher style doesn't mean they have more "will".

This is my annoyance with this argument. The players clearly care, they clearly try, but people think they don't try enough... but how does anyone know how much they are trying?
