I'm sorry but I'm confused. I don't recall the Leafs ever having a sexual abuse scandal that Dubas had to deal with. I do recall Matthews exposing himself to a female security guard and that got pretty much swept under the table. Also, if that is your only prerequisite for hiring a GM because he might adequately deal with a sexual harrassment situation should it arise, I would suggest there are probably a lot better people in this world than Dubas to handle that.

Not Dubas but we had an abuse scandal back in the 80's.. given the way he handled the allegations against Morgan, I don't think Dubas would let something like what happened in Chicago to go unaddressed in Toronto.

Most believe he didn't deserve to be suspended. I agree.

Can't remember anyone saying he should have been kicked off the team. That would have been a stupid response by the Leafs.

That was not my response. He got special treatment because of his status. The bottom line is, the holier than thou Dubas did nothing, zilch, zero, not even a statement. I wouldn't trust him to proactively react to a negative siruation on the team, especially involving his so-called stars. BTW, he sucks as a GM too.

Too much caffeine.

Going to try and watch a full game for the first time this season. Think this could be the game to turn the leaf's shitty start around.

I'm definitely on the track to becoming a casual fan of them now, hoping the leafs can make them be must-see again.

Come on boys, stop being failures, and put the cliches to the test. Go Leafs Go!

Exactly this. I don't mind losing, the important thing is that we keep learning and understand that it's a process. If we lose but learn something, and better understand how to compete against terrible teams in the future, well what more could I possible ask for?

GLG!!

I get the sentiment, but we really can't lose this game lol. Like if we lose to this Chicago team.... Wow. Maybe you don't blow it up, but you make drastic changes for sure. I'm talking benchings. Which ever star doesn't put up atleast a point in the loss gets benched for the next game. Don't care about how many chances they get. Enough making average goaltenders look like the second coming, you can't do that constantly while being paid 11M.

On 1050 today they said that two negative bits about Nylander were pulled from All For Nothing after his camp objected. Anyone else hear that?

I wasn't being serious. I was going for a parody of Keefe's post game comments the other day, I guess I failed.

This will be the second game in a row I won't be watching. First time in years and years that I've intentionally skipped two games in a row.

Management and the players on the ice don't care, so why should I?

I care, but I won't be watching it until they make changes.
I will be watching!

5-1 Hawks. They could be in a nasty mood following their dreadful start and the recent allegations.
There are recent allegations that have come out after the report that has proved the sexual assault and cover-up in the Blackhawk organization?

Not surprised. I heard some pretty unflattering things about him at Thanksgiving dinner

Hi everyone,

I haven’t read through the entire Thread, but I’m picking up that some are comparing GM Dubas & how he might handle a similar situation like the Hawks scandal.

From an outside perspective, my recollections of GM Dubas are of a man who visited Mikheyev in the hospital & running down to check on Tavares last playoffs.

Say what you will about his negotiation skills, but as a human being, from his actions that guy looks solid in my books.

I sincerely hope that this Season’s Playoffs will result in success & change the perception of him. Not because I’m a fan of his, but rather that I would love to see someone like this who obviously cares about his players do well.

All that said, may your Boys

Start strong

Dubas is a “gud pro”, as Babcock would say. He works hard and has good values. He really cares for his players and is their best friend. The problem is that actually hinders him, as a GM. He should be Tywin Lannister, but is Jon Snow.
