Definitely have taken the red pill, and can see the American Association of United States Ice Hockey Teams ****ing itself out to the MS4M! ('Merican Sports for Merica!) TV network at the expense of the Canadian Branch Plant Division.

The Blue Pill gets you the Ron Mac Lean opening on Hockey Night in Canada, "Take the blue pill and celebrate Canadian Culture on the frozen pond. Take the blue pill and watch hockey as you have been programmed to do so. Take the blue pill and believe that your Canadian heroes who play for your Canadian based teams have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Take your blue pill and never consider what the odds are of never ever getting numbers 1 through 7 as you draw from 31 balls from a lottery or bingo type machine. Tonight, on Hockey Night in Canada we will blue pill you for our profit "

Bell and Rogers have sports radio and TV networks premised on Blue Pilling Canada when it comes to professional hockey and denying that the fix is in. Rogers is out billions- oops! - to the AAUSIHT which in turn is seeking fat US TV money to pay for teams in Dixie and that means the Canadian Branch Plant Division is screwed.

Not all is lost- the fix can be overcome by being the Harlem Globetrotters on Ice, and that means all analytics all the time, more Ivan Svensky and less Patrick O'Thuggo. Moron Man, philosopher King of Leafs Nation is darn well overdosing on blue pills and is actually advocating for the Leafs to get some penalty box sitting toughness. Suicide. Moron Man must have missed the playoffs last year, as Boston smacked chairs and tables over the backs of the Leafs and sprayed them with fire extinguishers with no consequences as all- to not see the fix you are crushing those pills and freebasing them ! The Leafs got penalties for making mean faces. The fix is in.

After reading that I am going to take the orange pill and attempt figure skating for the first time in my life.

I hope that the ice is thick enough, because once you take the orange pill anything goes.

We're 1 point out of a wildcard spot with 60 games remaining in the season and people are talking tanking? wtf is wrong with you people?? Those stats are absolutely meaningless this early in the season, I can't believe someone even wasted their time putting it together. Do we forgot what team won the cup last year?
I think that was before the Babcock firing.

I think we can safely assume the Bruins and Bolts will get the top 2 spots in our division and the WC spots will go to the Metropolitan. So we need to focus on getting ahead of the Panthers and Habs. Sabres look like they have started their annual tank early and the Sens will fade

The Leafs are going to finish the remainder of the season at 120 point or better pace.

This is one of the best TML teams ever assembled, and as of a little less than a week ago, the team has had the handcuffs taken off.

It's going to be tough regardless.

Need someone above Toronto to start choking. Even then Buffalo and the two teams under them are right up against the leafs ass like the passenger behind you when you take the Toronto subway at 8am on a Tuesday morning

They hate Dubas.
They hate skill overtaking the game at the expense of toughness.
They crave grit, and would in a heartbeat trade one of Matthews, Nylnander or Marner for a Patrick O'Thuggo penalty box sitting champion.
They hate Euro-centric skills based hockey and it is not the game they grew up with.

We are making the playoffs.

We are not trading skill for toughness, ever.

We are going to have a deep run as we will stay out of the box.

More Europeans coming up from the Marlies, all will be good.

All in on analytics, all in on Ivan Svensky. The fix is in against Canadian teams, but with a Leafs team full of Europeans, we will make the semi finals

If you mean skill players, sure. But Europeans?

Six of our top 12 forwards when healthy are Canadian:

Marner
Tavares
Hyman
Spezza
Goat
Kerfoot

Three Swedes, one Fin, one Russian, and one (pretty good) American.

Defense is five Canadians and one American.

Looks like a pretty Canadian team to me.

Hoping for the same pal

Possible only because of the 3rd divisional spot Montreal holds and even then it assumes we hold off Buffalo. Leapfrogging either of the wildcard teams is statistically a very bad bet since we all play the same number of games between now and Saturday. Either way, it's a mirage since every team involved in this equation has games in hand on us (some of them multiple games).

The Leafs may turn this around with time but in the short term, even if they run the table the next three games, they will still be in a bad spot.

Worst case scenario they gotta pick up 5 extra points over 57 games which doesn't sound too impressive especially since they play those teams they need to make ground on.

Not true. If the Leafs win the next 3 (that's a big if as winning both of a B2B against any team is tough), the Leafs will be on pace for 94pts.

96 has been enough to qualify for the playoffs every year but the past 2. I don't see this trend continuing, but even if it does that means the Leafs are still right in the thick of it again. I don't think that should be considered being in a bad spot, especially given our start.

More important to look at the Leaf's own pace as there is only so many points to go around. Get 94 points (we would be on pace for it if we win the next 3) and there is a chance you make it. 96 points (pace if we win 4 more in a row) and you are likely to make it. 98 points (5 more wins) and it is all but guaranteed you make it.

How likely or unlikely they are to make the playoffs is a pointless argument to have right now. There is a ton of season left and Babcock is gone!

Let's just enjoy the ride.

we need about 70 points in 57 games ... 35 - 22 - 0 , .... or 30 - 17 - 10 something like that.
