You guys do realize that they are 3 points out of home ice right?

The next 3 games. are Detroit, Buffalo, Buffalo, followed by an INCREDIBLY soft December, St Louis aside.

No need to panic..

Still not paying close attention to playoff aggregators. Unless you had a horrific start and buried yourself, it’s all still in front of us. Last year we coasted after Christmas, it was pretty much locked up. This year if we have to fight a bit to get in, bodes well big picture imho.

We're 1 point out of a wildcard spot with 60 games remaining in the season and people are talking tanking? wtf is wrong with you people?? Those stats are absolutely meaningless this early in the season, I can't believe someone even wasted their time putting it together. Do we forgot what team won the cup last year?

:o

I agree though. It's way too early to write off the season already. I'm sure no one is happy with the position we've put ourselves in, but there's a lot of hockey left to go things can change pretty significantly from week to week. Lots of work to be done, but it's do-able.

We'll be in playoff position by christmas.

Theoretically, we can be in a playoff position by next week.

The standings are so tight that we need to keep it going. We can't afford any more prolonged losing streaks the rest of the way.

Sitting at a desk.
If we're close to playoff spot after that horrific start and that joke of an October/November schedule, then I will be happy.

A lot of adversity, and we played some of the worst hockey we've played in 5 years. If this was a bad team, we'd be well out of it by now.

Look at points percentage, they're also a few wins away from 13th in the conference. These next 5 games Eastern Conference wide will be huge. Plenty of reason to panic and the players would be naive to not realize that. I think they do though. They can check the standings

All you need is to look back to last year. The blues were dead last on New Year’s Day.

we had a tough stretch which every team has at one point or another. We made the appropriate changes and should be okay now. Close to 60 games left. Some teams started off hot but will come back down to earth. The year we had the pens first at this point in the year everyone was celebrating the fact that we might have two top 5 picks and they won the cup. Really way to early to fully panic. While the situation isn’t ideal this isn’t the 18 wheeler off the cliff type situation again at this point

Looking ahead next month every game is winnable with only St.Louis/Carolina/Colorado being tough games. The team should go on a solid run here to close out 2019

Yeah. People need to stop looking at points and look at points percentage.

I don't doubt that the Leafs can play better from here than the teams currently in the wild card and the Panthers and the Habs but it's not an easy accomplishment. They need to work hard to get back. We've played way more games than a lot of teams.

They hate Dubas.
They hate skill overtaking the game at the expense of toughness.
They crave grit, and would in a heartbeat trade one of Matthews, Nylnander or Marner for a Patrick O'Thuggo penalty box sitting champion.
They hate Euro-centric skills based hockey and it is not the game they grew up with.

We are making the playoffs.

We are not trading skill for toughness, ever.

We are going to have a deep run as we will stay out of the box.

More Europeans coming up from the Marlies, all will be good.

All in on analytics, all in on Ivan Svensky. The fix is in against Canadian teams, but with a Leafs team full of Europeans, we will make the semi finals

Provided Florida and Montreal both win both games at hand.

I'm not sure where the Leafs will be at Christmas, but no matter what's happened this year, Christmas is the earliest that you look at the standings and judge teams.

Hyperbolic nonsense. Epitome of a strawman. I would love for the Leafs to make the playoffs

Please take the red pill next time:nod::confused:
Definitely have taken the red pill, and can see the American Association of United States Ice Hockey Teams whoring itself out to the MS4M! ('Merican Sports for Merica!) TV network at the expense of the Canadian Branch Plant Division.

The Blue Pill gets you the Ron Mac Lean opening on Hockey Night in Canada, "Take the blue pill and celebrate Canadian Culture on the frozen pond. Take the blue pill and watch hockey as you have been programmed to do so. Take the blue pill and believe that your Canadian heroes who play for your Canadian based teams have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Take your blue pill and never consider what the odds are of never ever getting numbers 1 through 7 as you draw from 31 balls from a lottery or bingo type machine. Tonight, on Hockey Night in Canada we will blue pill you for our profit "

Bell and Rogers have sports radio and TV networks premised on Blue Pilling Canada when it comes to professional hockey and denying that the fix is in. Rogers is out billions- oops! - to the AAUSIHT which in turn is seeking fat US TV money to pay for teams in Dixie and that means the Canadian Branch Plant Division is screwed.

Not all is lost- the fix can be overcome by being the Harlem Globetrotters on Ice, and that means all analytics all the time, more Ivan Svensky and less Patrick O'Thuggo. Moron Man, philosopher King of Leafs Nation is darn well overdosing on blue pills and is actually advocating for the Leafs to get some penalty box sitting toughness. Suicide. Moron Man must have missed the playoffs last year, as Boston smacked chairs and tables over the backs of the Leafs and sprayed them with fire extinguishers with no consequences as all- to not see the fix you are crushing those pills and freebasing them ! The Leafs got penalties for making mean faces. The fix is in.
