Marner and Tavares care as much as anyone, the problem is the blueline. You swap our defense with Colorados and I'll bet our forwards will look like they care a whole lot more.

Tavares has 1 even strength goal in his last 15 games (with 2 PP goals) .. and only 2 assists in his last 13, no points in his last 3 games.

I knew these last couple years of his deals could be rough. Had a great start to the season but we need more right now.

Also his leadership sucks.

From everything we've seen, Tavares is not really a leader whatsoever. He's like a respectable citizen who is bestowed certain honours, but I think he would be way more comfortable as an assistant. Just compare and contrast him and Ryan O'Reilly in his short time here. How one speaks, the energy levels, etc.
