Refs were legit awful tonight. Almost dubious behaviour from them?

No wonder the Avs are a good team. They had the same amount of PPs tonight as we get in a week.

This game sucked and Matthews is as good as MacKinnon, if not better, both things can be true.

Sure we're a good regular season team in the sense we'll make the playoffs and possbily win a round but don't know how anyone at this point would think this group has legitimate championship upside.

People need to take a look at teams like Vegas,Colorado,Carolina (they have piss poor goaltending right now) and see how far off we are from winning a championship. These teams come at you wave after wave and can actually suffocate you and shut you down.

If they played together a lot it might work.
But they don’t so it won’t.
Bad coaches do that.

This was the worst game I have ever seen Tavares play. Slow reading the play, slow making plays. Slow.

I liked the compete level from most of the team once Colorado decided they were going to play.

Third line is for real. Can play heavy along the boards and down low in the offensive zone.

On the 4th AVs goal, complete situational unawareness by whoever was supposed to be F3.

Officiating was also clearly a factor. We haven't seen a game as poorly officiated as that one in some time... Not all season I'd suggest.

Expected loss for me, not that I enjoyed it.

This only really matters if they lose tomorrow too.

I hope Tre was watching close, because these next 8 games including this one will tell him everything he needs to know.

You know a player is cooked when their skating stride looks like a guy running on wet asphalt in running shoes combined with that unpredictable spray of the puck like they're shooting a tennis ball around with a broken wood stick. Gio is so toast.

Jones has done a fine job in holding the line, but I wouldn't mind giving Hildeby a shot right now and see what he could do.

Also it may hurt, but its time to move on from the core 4. These guys just can't get it done. Since Nylander just signed a new contract, perhaps move Marner and then see what Tavares wants to do when his contract ends. Game after game these 4 guys are very inconsistent and far too often have trouble delivering in the clutch. I have little confidence in these 4 guys leading the Leafs to the cup.

These are our top paid guys, but they're not playing like our top players every game that as a fan you can have faith in that will lead the team to playoff success.

favourite player, 10 was the absolute maximum i would have ever offered. 37 games don't change 4 years

The team needs to retooled starting from top to bottom (Shanny). The best thing is to miss playoffs then retool. Strip the C from Tavares and let him know he’s not being resigned and waive his NMC. Move Marner too. The teams has far too many holes to fill to even think about competing in playoffs.

Bertuzzi was never a "high profile forward". Lmao. Dude fluked his way to 30 goals ONE time. He is a career 45 point player at best, something you could get a lot cheaper than 5.5M. But this is Toronto. Endless band-aid solutions instead of addressing the real issue. 1.3M x 3 for Reaves who isn't even an NHL player. 5.5M for a 45 point 3rd/4th liner. Shanahan loves paying top dollar for mediocrity. That is the DNA of this franchise, almost a decade running.

On a night like this, Marner doesn't look like he has the speed, strength, smarts, drive to even be in the game. This useless version of him is always in the back of mind whenever he's having a party game and it's all goofy fun out there. He is not a serious player when big boys come to town and decide they want to take his lunch money.

Protect every star player except when he's a Leaf...I'm shocked Matthews could still stand up straight, he has been taking crosschecks for years.

Replace them with someone who gives a crap. The Avs don’t have Marner or Matthews and they are a good team. The last 5 cup winners don’t have Marner and Tavares and still won the cup. Why is imperative that we have those 2 to win a cup
