Post-Game Talk: Leafs beat the Kings - B2B shutouts

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Gotta feel for the kid, seems like injuries are going to derail him at this point, that's 3 significant injuries for him since turning pro.
Was always a risk with his playstyle. Feel bad for him, but guys who are smaller and aren't particularly elusive tend to run into this problem, Fabbri had this same issue. Like, if you look at Marner (obviously an elite player, but an obvious example of a smaller guy on our team, atleast weight wise), and how rarely anyone ever catches him clean.

Great game from the entire team! Where was this in October? I'm pleased that they got in shape in October to play this well in November and December! Maybe our players should actually train in the off-season and come ready to play in October!

I thought Durzi should have got a roughing penalty for getting his stick and gloves up in Engvall's face prior to him clubbing that little f***er! JMHO!
I believe that the pre season games should have the big guns playing. They only play a couple of pre season games and then it’s regular season. Mitch and auston get better the more they play

When was the last time we had b2b Shutouts. Hopefully the goalies and D can keep this up, and the offensive firepower coming into form is a blessing. Lets keep this momentum.
I think it was covid oilers

Jokes aside, has that ever happened? A team get back to back to back shut outs with 3 different goalies?
Couldn't say for sure off the top of my head. I obviously don't expect it to happen though (the part about Kallgren starting, and not necessarily the shutout!).

The only good thing that may come out of this is that it may finally be Anderson at 2LW season.

But they will probably give it to Steeves instead.
Or more likely, one of those guys will snag a 4th line spot, and Geno Malgin or Kerfoot will be our 2LW, as they play there frequently already.

Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
[Malgin/Kerfoot] - Tavares - Marner
[Kerfoot/Malgin] - Kampf - Engvall
ZAR - Holmberg - [Steeves/Anderson/SDA]

Honestly, the injury doesn’t change much for us short-term - Nick has more upside than Steeves/Anderson/SDA, but isn’t currently THAT far ahead of them. I’m mostly just bummed for Nick, kid can’t catch a break.

Engvall penalty was bad but how did durzi not get a minor penalty for cross checking and highsticking Engvall before Engvall brought the stick down on durzi neck. The refs always seem to never miss one leaf infraction but when the opposing team commits a infraction it's never called

very enjoyable game to watch. Feel bad for Robertson. Samsonov held strong which was comforting. I know the Kings aren’t a top team by any stretch but Leafs dominated in all aspects.

Sammy needs to be careful, media can milk that quote into a major controversy lmao

That's a fair point. When the Leafs are winning, media revenue goes down. I could see a jackass like Steve Simmons trying to spin that into something that generates revenue.

Pretty wild to see the contrast between getting shelled by the Stars and then crushing the life out of the Kings (until they had that dead cat bounce in the 3rd).

Simmons can turn someone drinking water into a controversy like player X is not drinking BioSteel…
