no I think he put the puck toward the net and it resulted in a goal. I'm truly sorry you had to witness it
yes it is the same argument you make after every multi-point game, with reference to this same article
So what do you want me to do? Show playoff replays of him primarily creating offense from the blue line? Should I post the same articles and videos I’ve shared 100 times, which you sarcastically referenced me posting 100 times?
Make up your mind. If you need convincing, I can post them all over again, but if I do, don’t complain that I’ve posted them 100 times already. The play is still 55 feet from the net, and opponents tend to leave space there because they want the play to stay on the perimeter. This has been the leafs problem in the playoffs. They don't get inside.
The argument about Marner is always that he’s too far from the net. Every time I tune in, more often than not, I see him standing at the blue line at 5v5.
Even the broadcast team mentioned how often Marner is on the blueline.
Keep an eye on Marner in the offensive zone during the game. This is for the open-minded Leafs fans who are curious about why the core four have struggled so much in the playoffs and don’t just want to believe in sunshine and rainbows until the playoffs come around to discuss what’s not working. Just because a select group of Marner fans want just enjoy the season and wait for playoffs, maybe others feel differently.
For reference, these two setups came from 60-goal McDavid on one shift. Notice how much closer to the net McDavid is.
