I don't mind him, read his book and everything. Not sure why he's like trying to half commentate the game, though.
It's the gif he got.

I would happily do it if someone else paid me. He's no Joe Bowen but he's much much better than I would be. I would basically grunt, curse for goals against and scream for goals for. Good on him for making a career out of being a fan.

I'm fortunate to have gone to many Leafs games over the last several years, including quite a few playoff games.

I don't ever remember that building being that electric & epic as it was last night. The pure amount of bedlam that ensued after Nylander's goal was unlike anything I've ever experienced.

As a outsider, it was way more entertaining reading your game thread after the first period than this stuff :D.
Congrats. Would be nice to see Toronto go further this time.
Careful, the insanity in here is contagious.
so, what's the statute of limitations on changing the official scorer of a goal? Because JT did not touch that one.
Does it matter?

Been kicking myself all day for not going.

Boy Nylander had himself a game last night... From the beginning of the game, he was the best Leafs player, certainly in the first period, when the rest of the boys were napping. The last two playoffs, more than any other Leafs, he has shown the will to win in the playoffs.

In the last two periods, Matthews, Marner and Tavares joined in as well. When these guys show the will to win, and carry the game, we can play with anyone... and then there are moments, like Games 2, 4 and period 1, where they seem to forget, that they need to play with that effort, every game in the playoffs to win.

I keep seeing games like last night, and hope... well now they've finally learned their lesson.. and only to be let down the next game. Play that game on a consistent basis, and this team will go far. Have they finally learned what it takes? I don't know, I sure hope so. This team is easily good enough to compete, when everyone gives their best effort, and has the desire, and shows the will to win. Now just do that all game, every game.

Oh, and Campbell had a great game after those two goals too.

He’s been great defensively this series, I’d argue our best and who had that coming preseries?
Brodie has been the best defensively by a wide margin, muzzin not-to-close of a distance 2nd. Brodie broke up a 2-1 not even 10 seconds after the leafs made it 3-2.

Re-watching some of the game, I think there was a mini-turning point the last few minutes of the first. We started skating better and getting more into the game. Not giving up a third goal was also key. That could have been too big a hill to climb.

Solid end of game but whats with Matthews passing so much in the first period especially on the powerplay, where he was standing he needs 4 touches just to get a shot on net. Thank god he came out on his shooting side 2nd period and started shooting.

Great post. I totally agree with you, when the boys are working and playing intense hockey, we can compete with anyone. Unfortunately; like you said, we go through these lul’s where we don’t look like we give a crap. You can’t do that in playoff hockey. Fortunately, the team has enough talent to be able to bounce back from a lul (or two…), but it’s not always gonna work like that & definitely not a recipe for success…

Leafs lunch reminded me, shout out to Campbell's save on Paul's breakaway at 2-1.

Which one lol?

Seriously though...game could've gotten out of hand a number of times. As great as the Leafs played, they won by a whisker. Need the play much better next game.

Im also listening to Leafs Lunch on my break right now and I agree with Julia. I think Campbell has been good, even really good at points, but being good doesn’t necessarily equal stealing the game - which I would argue he hasn’t needed to do

I could be wrong but I still don't think he's 100% from whatever was bothering him at the end of the regular season. I haven't seen that signature wrist shot of his really out in full force this series and his overall puck handling and takeaway ability is lacking but he's made up for it by going to the net and hitting hard and still creating and finishing plays. Even his faceoffs are down below 50% so maybe his wrist or whatever it was isn't fully healed.

The diving by Tampa is getting silly

I could be wrong on this stat but I think they said Toronto 5 on 5 is outscoring Tampa 9 -2? If you were getting outscored that badly even strength wouldn't you dive? I don't like it either but there is method in their madness.
