"Reilly...knocked down by Colton couldn't get to the puck first"

If the game were called as it was in the first period...that 3rd goal by Tampa shouldn't have counted.

He litterally body checks Rielly knocking him down. Reilly. Who didn't have the puck. And was not skating INTO Colton.

That's a f***ing missed call that led to the tying goal.

One of two blatant allowed infractions on that goal. Watch Marner in the corner just before the McDonough shot; Tampa forechecker hooks him off his skates.

There’s some fun stats, the goon line! And the ice time wow.

The angle I saw hit Tavares skate then sergachevs skate and in. Hit them both
Why is there so much debate over hitting a skate?? I am in my 60's I could skate to the front of the net, I am sure of that, and I could battle for position would lose eventually but I could battle and a puck hits me and goes in and I am a hero?? Wow expectations are waaaay down.

What does trying to decide who's skate the puck hit have to do with expectations?

The puck could hit off your dong, bounce into the goalies padding, and the goalie could sneeze and the puck rolls out past the line and in and yes, I would call you a god damn sniper. It's the playoffs. Expectations are to get a bigger score than the other team.

Aha! That explains why I thought during the game that it didn't hit Tavares but then today I thought it did - it's all about the camera angles baby! :)

Yeah I was pretty satisfied last night that it was JT 's goal, on that low angle shot. Like I said before though, if it didn't hit him he would've straightened it out last night. I believe the captain to be a real solid citizen, if he wasn't they would have never given him the C. Any team-mate who starts taking credit for goals that aren't his pretty soon finds his place in team hierarchy to be non- existent.

We’ve seen this team a few times this year where they won’t take the shit and are fighting back. We’ve seen it in this series- Reilly a couple of times, Matthews slamming Maroon , some big hits buy the stars.

Tomorrow they need to go in like a pack and attack them for the entire game. Being dIrty is OK.

Disagree. Being even slightly dirty leads to tons of penalties for us. Not them, but us. When we play our game though with our passes and our skating, when we drove the play they have no answer. Give the refs nothing to call. Don't lay down but keep it clean. Hit em hard but keep it clean.

Jets fans crying. Oilers fans crying. Everyone getting mad cause we are happy we won a huge game against one of the best teams to ever touch ice since the Avs in the early 2000s.

This is a good day.
Blows my mind that these other fanbases get critical of us being happy for a playoff win. Its literally no different then other team when the win a game.

Envy is a funny thing. There is a youtuber named Tom Grossi. He embodies this. Goes out of his way to livestream his rival football team, The Vikings, just to cheer against them.

Obsession for/against us is crazy, especially when people envy our media coverage, our youth movement, our awards. Of course we will be hated, but to go out of your way to take time out of your life to watch our games and hate us? Crazy.

Not sure how anyone can blame other fans for being angry or assuming a loss. They are completely justified for feeling that way. It’s up to this team to prove everyone wrong and they can only do that by winning this series.
ofcourse we understand some fans are just bipolar, there were over 50 different negative nancy's in yesterday's GDT, probably well over 300 negative comments but several posters, such as GQ and Ashir among a few others are just over the top, GQ had over 10 negative complaints by himself and Ashir just hates Mathews he had at least 10 complaints about Mathews in just one GDT.

I can see why the GDT's get closed for comments after the game, alot of embarassing posts showing how little some fans know.

Channel all that heartbreak of the last few years into one thought - there is no game 7, there is only a game 6

Jets sub has 3x as many mentions of the Leafs as this sub does of the Jets. That's not even filtering for "Laffs". Probably 5x+.

Another one of their franchise players wants out, coaching staff fired, playoffs missed, locker room in turmoil - they need something I guess.

Yep, Marner was tripped with no call that helped open up the passing lane to McDonagh.

Marner’s reverse was too cute though, so karma there. After that goal against I said it has to be that line that gets it back. And Mitch responded.

But in fairness the feeling is different

The vibe losing game 5 being up 3-1 in a series is much different
Exactly. I was too lazy to find the words to explain it, glad somebody gets it. Winning to take a 3-2 series lead feels like an accomplishment but falling ass backwards from 3-1 to 3-2, that's something else entirely.

I remember when they obtained Evander Kane when they switched from Atlanta to Winnipeg, they believed he was the next big superstar who would win rockets and be a selke candidate.

Then we heard how amazing Schiefele is and how he is clutch and a true leader. He got suspended in the next round which resulted in them being swept.

Now their stellar roster hate each other, no coach can mend it, they extend their lackluster GM, even despite everything going on.

Helle is the heart and soul of that team and if he leaves, they will be screwed.

Yet still their fanbase believes they are largely superior to us and every other Canadian market. Sad really.
