Thx for that
I couldn’t watch the game tonight , but was listening…
I didn’t make out the type of game Bobby M had
I’m a huge fan of his
So super to hear the positive feedback about him
GLG
As a line they've had better nights, but the kid still hustles like his life depends on it. He's going to be a treat once he starts putting up points.

Things I liked:
-Sammy’s ability to give confidence to the team and making important saves down 2-1. With other goalies of late - that game is a 4-1 loss.
-Holmberg. Nice speed and mitts
-Coach Keefe going 88 34 16 in the 3rd. Created a spark.
-Lily. Great game and made up for the penalty.

Concerns:

Rielly is not a defensive defensemen, he’s offensive I keep hearing. Right now - he does neither well. He does not belong on our PP. He is our worst contract currently imo.

Holl battled the puck a bit.

Kerfoot not decisive in the o zone and a terrible own zone give away.

Gio - looks tired. Love the guy.

Breakouts poor tonight. Gaps too big between forwards and D.
Morgan Rielly played over 28 minutes and was a plus 1 tonight.

The eye test provides nothing more than a visual confirmation solely through the filter of a pre-existing bias

Kerfoot..... where offence goes to die
Keefe needs to identify at set of PKers without Kerfoot so we don't leave a hole when he is traded. Either than or the incoming talent has to be able to play on the kill.

I have not had a problem with Keefoot up to now (this season), but I think we have maxed out what we can get out of him and it is getting to the point where he is doing more harm that good, even as responsible defensively as he is. Some of the younger talent brings more value in all aspects.

He is UFA, and I don't think there is anyway we are bringing him back.

That play where he reversed the puck back into our zone when the other four guys were bolting out of the zone was a complete brain dead move. Read the room man... read the room.

Engvall is averaging just over 30 seconds of PK time .. he's a candidate for more workload.

Also Holmberg has shown himself to be very smart defensively, it would be good to get him some time there too. He's also no worse than Kerfoot on the draw.

Agree with both those names, I was also thinking Nylander could kill more. Maybe that is something some of the other young guys have done in the past.

But he still graduated from Harvard. Pretty sure he just overthink instead of having low IQ, lol.

That makes sense and you’re probably right but in fairness he does seem to overthink often..also I’ve never been convinced a guy graduating from a tough program proves high intelligence, he might just be extremely hard working

Why don't our players just ice the puck when everyone is standing still? We have scrambles in front of the net, we'll gain possession, then dish the puck off to someone else who is standing still. It seems like only bad things happen when we do this. I'm not bagging on guys standing still during a goal mouth scramble; I just think the better/safer play would be just to get that puck out of Dodge and take our chances with a faceoff.
