hopefully it's not the Tavares type discount where he's still overpaid , lol
ha... nope, no cap for that! And honestly, I wouldn't shed a tear if they traded JT

Blatant slashing penalty breaks Mo's stick in OT and no call. Leafs deserve to be 3-0 against the Jets as they've outplayed them in every game.
As for WPG, their defense is atrocious. You cannot call a team with a blue line like that a contender. Simply put. Even still, they could upset any team in the North because Helle can steal an entire serious.
Meanwhile, Fred can't save a puck that changes direction. Any tipped shot is a goal.
Let's be honest, were not giving up anywhere close to the number of high quality chances were generating. This isn't pond hockey, were dominating games and giving up a handful of good chances that are ending up in our net. Even then, a number of these goals aren't memorable chances of he gets a shoulder on them.
I haven't either, but it certainly feels like a disproportionate amount of tips are going in our net when Fred plays.dont think they have stats on what % of tips actually get scored.
Tips that are actually on goal compared to wide how often do they go in? never seen a stat like that.
We won't know till Saturday. I'd guess it's Freddy on Saturday and then Hutch or Campbell on Sunday.Do we know if it's Hutch or Campbell playing this weekend?
You would figure they would be included among the top 44 keepers in terms of minutes played though.
Expanding it out even further, Andersen ranks 34th out of the 55 keepers to play at least 1500 minutes since the start of 2019 season for save%
...but getting worse goaltending when he plays, which was your initial point there, no? That we should expect these types of goals to go in since he's not a Helly-esque goalie? And go figure... We're winning way more games than we're losing, despite Anderson in some instances.
Team D this year:
Shots Against/60: 8th fewest in the NHL
High Danger Chances Against/60: 14th fewest in the NHL
Expected Goals/60: 2.38: 7th fewest in the NHL
Goals Against/60: 2.49: 6th fewest in the NHL
The Leafs are an amazingly tight defensive team when they want to be and have really good defensive stats considering they are playing in the most offensive oriented division.

Just read the Winnipeg Thrashers boards. Delicious tears. Most in denial that they were blatantly outplayed. If not for Helle and Ehlers, this game is not close.
Also the Refs were garbage this game for both teams.
matty vs Shiefunfortunately their management knows that as well and they are just getting by with that D until tdl. I’ll be shocked if they don’t go for two defensemen.
And then all of the sudden they would be very though out for us if any team really.
They arguably have deeper c position even. Not better but deeper.
I completely agree.....but I don't think that response was meant for meANYBODY who plays with one of the top 10-15 most offensively gifted forwards in the world (Marner) serves to benefit from it. Nylander on his wing is a downgrade, despite still being excellent. I don't think anyone can argue that at all. Kerfoot and the other players that have rotated on his left wing also aren't Zack Hyman. So essentially, he downgraded (considerably) both of his linemates from that 47 goal season when Mitch was his personal set up man. Neither guy carried the other... Two top 20 forwards in the NHL played together, with a pretty damn underrated linemate in Hyman.
Again, I'll happily concede that he's a few goals behind his normal pace. He's had a ton of chances this year and has uncharacteristically left 4-5 on the ice that would be "gimmes" for him in other years. I'm just not seeing the massive decline that others are seeing given who is playing on his left wing and some poor puck luck. I think k he's been fine. Not 11 million dollars "fine", but he could easily finish near his normal pace with a better second half.

Boy, that list gets pretty weird, pretty quickly.
I don't think "average goaltending" is an unrealistic expectations though. Nobody is asking for a Vezina, they're asking for him to outplay our back-ups currently and return to a slightly above average starter. Not just that he isn't a Helle'esque goalie, but that he's displayed a knack for giving up softies his entire tenure. He's just not the special goalie some want him to be.

You killed me with the ball hockey ball
We gave up like 5 high danger chances the entire game and ended up with 3 goals in the back of our net. It was a combination of the Jets being clinical and Andersen not making the big save. You can't really play a much better defensive game then what we just did lol
Some pretty delusional takes in there lmao. Like some think the jets were playing the leafs even lol.
look at this one:
"Bulleffingshit.
"These teams are pretty even but we need D help.
We get D help and we are the best team in the division."
Hellebuyck plays average and its 7-2 leafs.... we quite literally saw this last saturday when habs beat them 7-1.
Of coursethanks man I try to keep things light...mostly![]()
