He's been shat on for 12 months now by the majority of the fan base. Not many take the time to give him his due tonight. It's disappointing to see.

Nice win, but if we do not tidy up our defensive zone puck play we are going to be chasing a lot of games.

Soft plays, losing a lot of wall puck battles... need the team to firm up on those plays. The reason we were flying vs EDM was because we were almost perfectly clean in our own zone.

As if neither ref saw that hacksaw-jim-duggan slash in the corner? I mean the stick was obliterated ffs. Fckn losers.

No denying the Jets have some offensive skill, but they have a very weak defensive structure. I don't think they can lock anything down, at least haven't shown it in 3 games vs us. If not for Helly we rout them this week.

For perspective on Andersen, are Jets fans saying Helly should have saved that Nylander goal? Cause sure as shit people on this board would be claiming he should have. He does need to get better though, more timely saves so we are not chasing the game all the time. Sometimes the other teams do make good plays. Their 2nd and 3rd goals to me were skill goals like we normally score... first one I think he over played.

We gave up like 5 high danger chances the entire game and ended up with 3 goals in the back of our net. It was a combination of the Jets being clinical and Andersen not making the big save. You can't really play a much better defensive game then what we just did lol

Hellebuyck is a run killer, zero desire to see the Jets in the playoffs.

Their forwards are opportunistic but not unusually successful at converting, their defense is really bad, but Hellebuyck, if he's playing like this, turns every game into at worst a coin flip.

The Nylander/Helleybuk battle was fun. Mik, Matthews and the boys played a great game...

That would be the positive but possibly heart attack inducing alternative, but history shows us if goaltending is a weakness it's pretty tough sledding.

I'm not going to let Freddy stop me from enjoying this incredible team in front of him even though it was far from his worst night (I've just lost patience with him). We fix the goaltending and this league is at our mercy.

My unsettled feeling and long term worry here is we're going to walk into a series against Winnipeg like the 2000s Ottawa Senators with an army of young talent and Patrick Lalime in net. The Sens knew they were going to throw the kitchen sink at Joseph/Belfour but a 3 on 2 line rush could kill them at any random moment.
