Haven't watched a game this season so can't comment on this game specifically beside the box score... But I'm fully on board with the majority of people here saying Marner and Dubas need to go. And that's just a start.

The dark days of the 2000s were easier to stomach than wasting a talent like Matthews.

Dubas is reverse Rumpelstilsken. It was soooooo obvious. FFS. Wasting Matthews is the worst I've had to witness as a Leafs fan. I wish we could go back in time to losing to the Caps 1st round

One goal deflected off Muzzin's skate, one goal deflected off Liljegren's skate, one goal deflected of a Pittsburgh player's upper body, one awful wraparound goal where Campbell got lazy, and one good goal.

Isn't that the way, though? Leafs give up "bad luck" goals and get goalied.

At some point, you just got to accept the Leafs just don't have that "it" thing, and this is a pattern, not "luck".

Totally agree. Dubas is a naive kid - you gotta be cold and factual to win in business. He foolishly wears the I'm-your-parent-and-your-best-friend-too hat. Today's entitled players see that approach as a weakness to be exploited, not a positive approach to build success on.

And Shanahan is a know-nothing fraud, he should have seen this in a GM who is simply not worldly enough.

and anyone that is a parent in real life knows that the moment children sense even the slightest weakness in a parent they will savagely and relentlessly feast on it like a starving Tyrannosaur. Sounds about right.

Seriously though why do people keep hanging the team performing badly on the management when its up to the players to get the job done on the ice? Dubas has done almost everything possible to address every weakness in the lineup and at what point do you say its the players not performing rather than it being all Dubas' fault?

You can keep changing out players continuously, but at some point players have to show up on the ice and play hard and play well. Dubas can only do so much.

Dubas created this mess with poor cap allocation and has been forced to continually change the support pieces, cannot afford top goal tending and he paid this dysfunctional core and after continuing failure has refused to do anything about it.
These core players are paid top dollar and refuse to put in the effort so they need to be held accountable as well or shipped out

The Justin Holl shittiness really is infectious. Muzzin needs to be put in quarantine.

The thing I'm noticing there is Muzzin no longer skates much faster than Holl. He's really slowed down this year and that's a disaster since that pairing only worked due to Muzzin being at his best.

This isn't quite as bad as the loss to David Ayres, but this is still shameful. What would the score be if Crosby, Malkin and Letang were playing... 10-1? This Maple Leafs team seems to lack pride and yet still gets rattled too easily. I could tell by how nervously the team was playing right after the time out that it was game over. Mentally fragile as f***.
