Keeping Marner after last season was a dumb move. He’s clearly done here. We have a shot at getting an elite player back in Eichel by trading Marner but we’re not doing it.

I like Dubas but I am glad he will be gone after this season. We need someone to make tough decisions and clearly he’s too emotionally attached to the roster he’s created that he can’t see it for what it is. A highly underperforming team.

Trade Marner for Eichel. Please.
Just think
If we can make that trade we save in cap also

I love how people railed on Babcock for playing the starter on the first night. He knew his team was never going to show up on game 2 of a back to back, so he wanted to secure SOME points .
I think you should play your starter against the team that give you the most chance to secure two points.
For this back to back, it should be SJ.

Marner looks like he's daring to make Dubas to ship him out. He's a net negative

Seriously though why do people keep hanging the team performing badly on the management when its up to the players to get the job done on the ice? Dubas has done almost everything possible to address every weakness in the lineup and at what point do you say its the players not performing rather than it being all Dubas' fault?

You can keep changing out players continuously, but at some point players have to show up on the ice and play hard and play well. Dubas can only do so much.
Because management signed the players to those deals. You can't just throw millions of dollars at players and expect them to be worth it. Players got what they could but management was supposed to be the adult in the room.

the fact the hockey world are freaking out over a 5 game sample. is all you need to know about the current state of priorities . this sort of over reaction has its place but come on. it wasn't even this bad when we 0 7 1 after trading for kessel .

That game is circled on the calender. No F*ING way that happens. There MUST be a response after this joke.

Quote this message. We win Monday. We have too. I'm out for a month focusing on school if we lose. I will not accept a loss.
The way they are playing now, they will lose the game in the 1st period on Monday and give more time for Dubas to prepare his post game press conf speech.

Seems like a good period to miss on my part. Let's hope the third goes better

Based on the numbers I'm guessing Jack let in some softies and we can't get anything going?
One goal deflected off Muzzin's skate, one goal deflected off Liljegren's skate, one goal deflected of a Pittsburgh player's upper body, one awful wraparound goal where Campbell got lazy, and one good goal.

Totally agree. Dubas is a naive kid - you gotta be cold and factual to win in business. He foolishly wears the I'm-your-parent-and-your-best-friend-too hat. Today's entitled players see that approach as a weakness to be exploited, not a positive approach to build success on.

And Shanahan is a know-nothing fraud, he should have seen this in a GM who is simply not worldly enough.

If Eichel's neck injury is bad enough he has to retire and we put him on LTIR for the rest of his contract we win that trade. Better things to spend $11m on than a useless scared little weakling winger

Babcock couldn’t get them to start on time. Keefe couldn’t get them to start on time. Leaders in leaders out all couldn’t motivate this team. Something is absolutely wrong with our makeup

let me preface this by saying that i am not a tavares hater but it seems that since JT joined the Leafs this team forgot to start on time

or may be since dubas became the GM

or

both?

Trade Marner for Eichel. Please.

And get back almost $1 million in cap space too.

I don't even know how you fix this team

So many bad contracts. Even Ritchie at whatever he's making is overpaid
Kerfoot, overpaid
Muzzin overpaid

Soup is overhype and overrated. I get a lot of James Reimer vibes from him. Great games then only to lay eggs when games matter. So inconsistent

Mrazek, same
