GDT: Leafs at Pitts 7:00pm CBC/SNO Sat, Oct 23rd

The thing is when Dubas signed the players to those deals, they were looking great. Marner was coming off a career high season, Matthews is still worth his contract even if he's off to a slow start and Tavares was great when he signed. Conversely Nylander's contract was roundly criticised when he was signed and now almost everyone thinks he's a bargain. See how quickly things can change in a season or two? Everyone wanted Willy gone keep Marner and now everyone wants to trade Marner and keep Willy.

Who knows maybe by the end of the season people will like Marner again and if he shows up big in the playoffs assuming the Leafs make it there, then people will definitely be back on the love train for him.

As for Dubas I don't see many moves he's done that I really hate like I have with previous Leafs GMs.
 
I got nothing. I’m numb. The whole defence has become riverboat gamblers. Marner is beyond pitiful. Campbell was off too long. Tavares is done. Spezza is our best player.I guess I had something lol.

At the start of the year I was thinking this might be too big of a risk due to Eichel's unknown health status. Now after watching Mitch to start the year, in combination with the last couple years in the playoffs. The potential for Eichel to be healthy and come back and play to 80% of his potential is better than whatever we are getting from Marner.

We'll win on Monday, with an epic, perfect game where everyone performs exactly as we expect...and then we'll lose the next 3 games with the same performance as we've seen tonight.

And everyone will point to the game on Monday and say, "they'll figure it out, stop over-reacting!"

damn this fanbase overreacts to the smallest sample sizes.

Also the quicker you folks realize the best of the best dont play hockey, the best of the best who can afford the sport do, the quicker you wont be weirded out by AHL talent being as good as the NHL. Its a bunch of rich kids who play a sport.. its not exactly a booming population.
