Im just as frustrated as the next guy and I get the emotions but like... I feel like taking a step back and understanding that it's so early in the season and it hasn't been THAT bad. The hot takes about random stuff is really weird. Marner and Matthews aren't going to stay at 0 goals for very long.

Can you make it a live thread please?

Yeah heard it before... show us all tonight.

Seems like a lose-lose tonight.

Win: Pens roster isn't strong enough to truly know if we turned a corner. We'll want to wait until next game before changing our mind.

Lose: Do I dare say lol

Imagine being the Penguins players. They have a big chip to prove something. Kapanen does as well in some ways. It's not going to be as easy as people think.

I am hoping the Leafs don't go into this game with their usual mentality and play down to the opponent, or completely shoot themselves in the foot by playing like absolute ass against a weaker opponent. But they probably will. We all know it.

I suspect Muzzin might be dealing with something. He's been pretty bad last couple games.

Letang is out tonight as well due to covid protocol.
Leafs lose this one and ... I don't even want a know what this place will look like lol

What I do is pretend HFboards doesn't even exist when things are going bad and Hyman is going to score 82 goals.

Season is young, but hopefully Leafs wake the F up sooner than later.

Yeah I'm just going to go into these early season games with low expectations right now.

If we suck we suck, whatever.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I agree that dermott has looked good so far this season but let’s remember he’s playing sheltered mins and not against teams top units. I think sitting holl for a game to see things from another perspective is a good idea but I don’t think dermott is the answer either

What is the correct response to last night's loss and Pitt's depleted line up.

What should they do?

Dermott has been lights out. Why in the world is he coming out and not Holl (if it is so).

You guys see Holl on the Meier goal? Weak by Hutch but not as weak as Holl along the boards. He even has a short 2 on 1 with Muzzin on the guy and is fishing with his stick. This is Holl in a nut shell. For 1 on 1 rushes he's the guy you want on the ice. Not even McDavid can beat Holl 1 on 1. For anything else....cross your fingers. Unfortunately for us the "everything else" happens 95% of the time in contrast to the 1 on 1 rushes.
Holl has been grossly lazy this season. From throwing his hands up on a borderline off-side and going controlled disconnected in pre-season to now having an atrocious start out of camp, it's crazy that he seems as untouchable as Muzzin.

I said it before but he's Babcock's Hyman, only on defense. Except he doesn't have the upside Hyman had.

Meanwhile Dermott has been one of the few brights spots while also playing his off-side. Dermott would offset Muzzin's foot speed issue perfectly.

Don't underestimate the Penguins, they're a very well coached team under Sullivan. They've always been able to develop strong depth & play like they're on steroids without guys like Crosby, Malkin, Letang.

LMAO at Keefe... Didn't see it till just now

I actually kinda feel like Keefe handled that pretty well.

I'm sure he's way ahead of the reporter on who shit the bed and effort levels, but that's behind the scenes stuff a coach shouldn't air in public/to the press. Yet he did throw out "Matthews and Mitch" oooohhhh.

Am I going to be changing my avatar soon?

To me this is one of those games that says a lot about a team.

It's not a must win, but it is an early character test.
