Feels to me like this camp has been a success already. The vets were always whatever, the kids are impressing, the guys fighting for gigs look good, we seem deeper.

They should have been worried on draft night when they picked a guy who was far less productive than Jesse Puljujarvi first overall

Sure. If he keeps this up he’ll make It. They need guys that are willing to play D and hes shown he’s not scared to.

I’m pulling for him because of the reaction we had when he was drafted.

Minten’s preseason has me optimistic about his NHL future. He looks like he will fill some role eventually.

Agreed he will carve out a role as an NHLer much like he did with the Blazers. He didn't have the pure skill to take a key offensive role from Stankoven, Seminoff or Bankier etc. so he focused on his 2-way game and earned a major role that way. A coaches dream as far as attitude to succeed.

I'd rather they try him there in place of pp time. He has the wheels and puck control to skate things out of trouble.
