One thing I've seen a couple of times from Benoit is a couple of times he's gone for a hit and it's led to an odd-man rush. Schenn was excellent at not putting himself out of position to make a hit. Benoit is likely rusty but if he wants to make the team or have a long career he'll have to choose his spots better.

He's not very good. I'll give him time to shake off some rust but he looked really bad in all 3 areas -- skating, skill and positioning. I'd put him lower than Kokkonen on the depth charts.

think we see rifai in the nhl sooner than later

Yep. Aggressive skater but sub average skill. He can cover a lot of ground though with his skating and he's good defensively. He's kinda like a poor mans TJ Brodie.

I was thinking that someone like Rifai might benefit from time with Oates.

Just work on his break out pass and skating + aggressiveness would be tough to go up against.

Man, they better put It on Montreal on October 11th because Montreal has a much better roster than Toronto tonight and they are losing to the Marlies forwards and half the Marlies defense

To be fair, Jones has been excellent. The Habs have had the puck a good chunk of the game with a lot of scoring chances.

Leafs have done well to be annoying and to score on their chances. The Leafs PK has been top notch too.

He has but again Matthew Knies aside, it's the Marlies

Maybe the window is widening, an influx of cheap talent is critical.

If they hit on all 3 of Knies, Minten and Cowan...the window is right there, just gotta keep Marner and outlast the JT contract.

I do have faith because Treliving is also known for jumping on top end defenseman that become available, we definitely need a couple.
