winning the games against Montreal and finishing first in the division would be huge, and hopefully the Leafs do everything in their power to accomplish that. Montreal is a very strong team this year
I would say Montreal is the better team right now and could be poised to make a deep playoff run.
We need more 5x5 consistently from the 2nd and 3rd line. If teams figure out a way to shut down our top line, we are in trouble.
As soon as we develop a more balanced attack, we can close the gap on them.

I might be a homer but Matthews and Marner are so elite there is no shutting them down, only off nights.

If they could play together for a couple of years and maybe even practice together sort of like McDavid and Auston did this past summer, they could be unstoppable.

Close what gap on them again?

Looking forward to this one, we need a “marker” set of games to see where we are really at, the Habs a good test.

Not what we need at all. We have Rielly and Sandin in that mold and Brodie is also a capable offensive D. We need more Muzzin's.
That's fair, just a personal favorite of mine. Loved his smooth skating puck style and ability to move the puck. He was basically what I hoped Rielly would become. Rielly while not as good as Prime Letang became a great player in his own right.

I wonder if we could somehow pull a sign and trade for Paryako. It would be hard to fit cap wise and rielly or muzzin would need to be dealt but he is basically a lesser offensive version of Prime Shea Weber

There is no way I trade this team for their's, no matter how many shots I've had

Yeah pipe dream but would be the dream add for us.

It’s a bit disrespectful of the Habs to start their backup against us.

Hopefully we can take advantage of the weaker goalie

Win or lose, I just hope the Leafs put forth a good effort. I hope they don't play like they did opening night against the Habs or the first two periods of the last game with the Canucks.

Matthews will score again though. :D

Im confused....habs were the worst team to enter the bubble last year. Not sure how good they actually are. We are consistently top 10 team each year battling against boston and tampa. They have to close the gap on us. Plus arent we 1st overall and beat them last game?

Overreactions everywhere
