Maybe worth handing out a couple of contracts to supplement the lack of picks in this draft class?
I'm really hoping we sign Pano Fimis. His vision and playmaking skills are actually incredible. He just had the bad fortune of playing for the Icedogs. Nguyen, Larsen, Duke, Larsen, Jelsma and Ward are also really interesting players.

All comes down to how much he improved his skills beyond his vision and playmaking.

Any hope that teams had about him and other guys like Delic, Ward, Schuurman, etc. doing better on a better team died when they collectively laid an egg at the WJC. He can show his willingness and capability to improve in the camp, but it will be the rookie tournament or scrimmages which show whether he can play up with better prospects, and I imagine if the Leafs have any kind of real interest in signing him, he will get an opportunity to center some of our top wing prospects.

It's absolutely pathetic of the Leafs that a team like the Sharks can figure out how to stream their entire development camp on Twitch and the Leafs do nothing. We've seen a few clips from reporters in the rink.

Get a tech savvy intern group to set up a few cameras and the views on Twitch or Youtube livestream would be pretty large. The same can be said for training camp. Seems like such a missed opportunity at ad revenue and more eyeballs (not that they are clamouring for it but still).

And then you also give the opposition a chance to see what your tendencies are too without haveing to physically scout them

Look man,..I play in a band and would rather not have my practices taped for "everyone to see" rather just for my own reviews.

I dunno, just flipping the coin here to say maybe why it shouldn't happen.

Fair point. I don't think there is much to see in terms of tendencies from a development camp but a fair point regardless.

San Jose needs to spend money to build hype for the team. We do not.
I do wish as you do. I would love to watch the kids skating

I truly hope they give Pano Fimis an ELC.

He was the 2nd overall pick in the OHL but missed his rookie year because of the COVID shutdown. Last year should have been his second year in the league but ended up being his rookie season. 44 points in 54 games for an IceDogs team that was a god awful disaster starting with their ownership. Ownership is gone and a group including Gretzky have bought the team (I am not suggesting to sign him because of the new ownership - just giving some context).

Look for Fimis to have a monster year next year. I hope we can jump all over it.

I know just a drill but this kid wow

I know i was just bout to link this and came to see if y'all have seen the video......... this man IS SOMETHING ELSE. We got ourselves a GUARANTEED LINEUP PLAYER IN HIM. 100% Does he play hard if anybody knows? Thuggish? A bit of a hitting game? If so.... its a 1000% guarantee. Now its only 100% sure. The movement is very special... congratulations. Oh so he won't be playing this season yet... only the next season. Okey. He is smart, unlike the selfish (I I I I wright). Me me me. Knies is better. Knies knows better and will KILL FOR US IN THE FUTURE:

i see alot of leclair , roenick kind of player
Leclair I see. Roenick though? I recall him as a guy that gets in his spot waits for the puck then unleashed that canon shot of his.
Stylistically he reminded me of jagr, using that butt to keep the defense away from the puck. Imo he will need to get even stronger to do it against fulltime nhlers

Maybe they don’t want us to see our development players

They are also just kids let them develop in peace without having their mistakes broadcast to millions of people. At BEST streaming doesn't impact their camp, there is literally no upside
