Dubas wouldn't do something this stupid, so I'm just hoping Babcock hasn't learned how to forge Dubas' signature yet.

If Brown's in the deal I don't hate it.

I do. Glendening is signed for longer. Brown can go for a pick with nothing coming back. All Glendening does is create more problems. No need to be paying 1.8m next year for a 4th line forward when our entire 4th line should cost less than that next year (Moore-Gauthier-Marchment/some vet league min deal)

Good asset management should have started by recognizing Zaitsev wasn’t worth 4.5 million dollars for 6 years.
It was for 7 years at the time. Even Lou is not infallible. Still he gets more crap than he deserves.

Nikita Zaitsev, Connor Brown & Dymtro Tymashov
for
Luke Glendening & Nick Jensen

then

Luke Glendening for Zack Kassian

Johnsson - Matthews - Nylander
Hyman - - - Tavares - - - Marner
Marleau - - - Kadri - - - Kapanen
Ennis - - - Gauthier - - - Kassian

Muzzin - - - Rielly
Gardiner - Jensen
Dermott - Hainsey

No thank you to Glendening for any asset above the 5th round, and certainly no thanks to Glendening for Kassian.

Kassian is exactly what we don't need. Doesn't seem to provide the right kind of...sound judgement let's just say. I can foresee him taking penalties just when the competition needs a swing in momentum.

I'm sure cap considerations would be at play, but I think you're severely underrating Glendening with this comment. He is #3C quality and can play crucial minutes and kill penalties. Not just a run of the mill 4C. Dollar for Dollar, Glendening's 1.8 million would be some of the best money spent on any team.
He wouldn't be playing #3C in Toronto, he would be seeing very limited minutes on the 4th line. Hence why the leafs cant afford to pay their #4C 1.8 million or whatever long term.

Dude, if the coach is Babcock and the player is Glenny..... "very limited minutes" would turn into a meme on your board.

Serious.

only way it works is if the wings eat half his salary. 900k isnt much to them, but it is to the leafs cap

glendenning@900k for a 2nd + Holl?

Moore-Gauthier-Glendenning would be a decent enough 4th line for next year

The Leafs don’t need him. I don’t even like him on the 4th line ahwad of the guys already there.

Nice to see fellow Leaf fans not ******* on Hyman as much as they used to now. Hes a hard worker, always liked him.
I feel one coming on...uuuuhh...".he still doesn't have enough talent to be a top 6 winger in this league'....aaaahhhh!!! and there it is.
I did like the simple presence of mind last game to keep his stick on the ice while skating towards the net though! Basically Marner banked it in off Zacks stick!!!

LMFAO Kapanen cost us Larkin, Dude you need to get off your meds. Larkin right now is better then Nylander and Kapanen is nowhere near Larkins level.

Nobody else on your team (drafted or in the NHL) has value comparable to Kapanen. Larkin is the only piece that even gets close value wise. Leafs would have to add a bit but yeah.
