I really wonder how many Schenn jersey's can be brought out of retirement by their owners. Wasn't an uncommon buy at one point.
I remember when my friend was in Toronto in november, 2010, and I had the chance to ask him to buy an original Leafs jersey for me, I couldn't decide between Kessel and Schenn. Went with a Kessel home jersey.
Kinda regretting it now lol

Me being off HFboards for the last hour...

This is insane. But i love it. I think we are such an improved team after all these trades. Starting with ROR finishing with Schenn, good role-playing 5-6 D man, plays hard, coming home.

To claim his birthright. Sending us to the promise land.

Kessel is still a good one. As a longtime Toronto resident and passionate fan. Ask my friend who bought a Versteeg jersey. He also bought a Jeremy Williams jersey because he was like a PPG when he got called up a couple times, but everyone outside of him knew that was a terrible decision at the time. He now only buys throwbacks of Leaf's legends. Weirdly, I don't really have any Leafs jerseys I regret, I do for other teams I cheer for though.

Luke Schenn
Luke Schenn • #2 • D

Born : Nov 2, 1989 (33 yrs) in Saskatoon, Sask.
Experience : 15 years
Drafted : Drafted by Toronto in 2008 (1/5).
Acquired : Acquired as a free agent in 2021.
Shoots : R

SCOUTING REPORT
The No. 5 pick in the 2008 NHL Draft has never lived up to his draft status because he has never been much of an offensive contributor, but his willingness to play physically and step up for his teammates continue to make him a valuable lower-tier defenseman in his 30s. He has the strength to keep attackers away from the crease and is more than willing to put his body on the line to block shots. Is limited offensively but does own a heavy shot.
Long Range Potential: Physical defenseman.

Not sure if Schenn is an upgrade on Holll so I'm guessing Schenn will sit a decent amount

Why give up a 3rd round pick for someone to just sit out when we’re already depleted from draft picks and still have Gustafsson, Timmins and Benn sitting out on the blueline.

All good depth moves today. Let the last 20 games see who is ready. Core group is still together just tightened things up a bit. Torqued some nuts today.

Improved depth perhaps, have see later round picks trade for guys like that in previous years. Also could be further moves to create more space on the blueline

I feel like a few years ago a player like Luke Schenn is moved 20 minutes before the deadline for a 5th or 6th rounder. Inflation has hit NHL trades almost as badly as it's hit groceries.

I really didn't want Schenn back. I hope he doesn't play too much because if he does I think that's generally going to be a bad sign for where the team is. That said, the cost seems fair for the current market.

There better be some "Human Eraser" signs at his first home game. Let's hype the crap out of this bottom pairing dman!
