I mean, who else would change the argument 180 degrees from saying the Leafs needed to beef up roster construction, then suddenly turn around and start making posts complaining about the Leafs having no picks (not true) when the Leafs did what the poster wanted and beefed up for the playoffs?

It’ll be interesting to see how Sandin handles it if he’s the odd man out come playoff time. That’ll be two seasons where he’s played a majority of the regular season games and sat out in the playoffs…

I wouldn’t be surprised if he requests a trade in the off-season if that’s the case. But I can see Giordano taking a huge step back next year so it would be important to keep him around. I just don’t know if he’ll understand or see it that way.

I would not be surprise tobsee sandin being trade at draft to get a 1st pick and maybe more back

Like i already said before, i love sandin but in toronto with rielly in front as offensive d whos struggle defensivly... its will be hard for sandin to grow up with his strenght

This is going to be a hard-fought battle to get out of the Div, so all the warriors we can dress the better.

Getting two picks with Murray, who has been LTIR fodder + decent in 20 games, is also an underappreciated move from his tenure.

No, cap space is asset and Dubas is wasting it on an average at best goalie who is often injured. The current roster is not cap compliant and at least another move will be required before the TDL to move out cap.

For clarity: 2025 5th turns into a 3rd if he misses a bunch of time for that season.

2024: The 5th round pick transferred to Toronto will be the lowest of the 2024 5th round picks that Chicago owns at the time of the draft. This means the worse of the two picks will go to Toronto

Bryan Hayes made a good point on overdrive yesterday

it doesnt really matter with the picks you are giving up because you can always sell off the core and recoup those picks back if the results aren't there in the next 18 months.

Dubas doing what he can to improve the club and give this core best possible chance to win. If they don't, time to move on

I can see Keefe running a 3 man rotation with the third defensive pair between Giordano, Holl and Sandin. I think the top four is pretty much a lock with Rielly, McCabe, Brodie and Liljegren. Giordano will also need some rest down the stretch.

After McCabe but they traded Sandin in a very complex deal.

I never said that. I said what if we lose first round? Nothing is set in stone but who do we get first round TB? It will not be easy.
