I never felt like we had any offensive momentum. I suspect our high danger chances for were quite low for the game overall.

The frustrating thing on nights like Saturday is it doesn’t look like we have any star power. If anything, the cap structure implies we have nothing but star power. Winning 3 and dropping 1 is hardly the end of the world but it always underscores the question of how serious these core guys are when losses can be telegraphed from a distance, to what kind of team, on what kind of night.

For seasoned observers it’s easy to see when it happens in the regular season but after eight years of playoff failure it should be obvious to everybody.

Every playoff series the Leafs go into, you can tell the other team adopt this “we’re going to steal their lunch money” mentality regardless of how tough they actually are.

To be honest the Leafs are going to have their hands full no matter who they play

Yup. No such thing as an easy out as long as the core remains and plays the same.
Unfortunately not enough people or perhaps it’s just the wrong people that can see it. They still have a lot of people fooled.
