If you think ROR and Foligno are comparable players, you don't have a very strong understanding of hockeyWow.
Kyle Dubas outdoes Kyle Dubas.
Just when you think the O'Reilly trade is the greatest ever made, shifty Kyle Dubas steps up and does it again. And such a low cost too. How does one GM ever manage to mastermind all these lopsided trades?
It's 2021 all again.
When Kyle Dubas said he was going to roll it back, I assumed he meant with the same core. I didn't realize it applied to the trade deadline too. This is trade deadline 2021 all over again.
TDL2021.02
Foligno/O'Reilly - captain, middle six player, declining vet on the wrong side of thirty, DAMAGED GOODS.
Everyone else are bottom of the roster duds that won't make a difference.
And McCabe.
Who is more proper a 2RHD than a 1RHD.
Even though the Leafs will probably play him as one.
Adding those guys was a great move, the problem was the team only 1 or 2 available at any one time, and the great teams have 5 or 6 of those guys in the lineup every night. Not really. He’s added these style of players throughout his tenure but I think the issue is he underestimated the need to have more than 1-2 guys that bring that element. And he also thought Clifford/Simmonds would be better than they were.
But Muzzin, Boosh, Foligno are examples of trying to add those elements.
Wow.

Last time they reach stanley cup
Chara (at 42)-mcavoy (at 19)
Krug-carlo
Grzelcyk-clifton
Or
vegas stanley cup line up
schmidt-miller
Theodore-engelland
Mcnabb(braydon) -Sbisa
Or
last pittsburgh stanley cup
Dumoulin-hainsey
Cole-schultz
Daley-maatta
Mccabe-brodie
Rielly-liljegren
Gio-holl
This D are not worst than any one of those 3 D who reach stanley cup, Mccabe fill a need leafs had in their D. We dont expect him to be a elite Dman, but doing whats he goos at like shutdown opposite player and playing physical.
His families business I believe, it's what he did before he tried being a sports wag, but it's a tough game but made tougher when you suggest to a coach that you know better.Re Howard Berger: I can remember him being all in for trading a first rounder for Kelly Kisio, back in the day.
Don’t give up your day job with the undertaker, Howard.
Thank you for.the response.
I humbly disagree.
If McCabe/Brodie is your top pair you aren't going far.
Where' Sandin?
Interesting how teams tend to go back to the same trade partners with some regularity. For Dubas, it seems to be Chicago and Arizona, and Vancouver to a lesser extent.Dubas flexing
This has to be the most balanced and complete team in 20 years
Tough luck we have bunch grade A contenders in our division but can't say Dubie is not trying

I can see Keefe running a 3 man rotation with the third defensive pair between Giordano, Holl and Sandin. I think the top four is pretty much a lock with Rielly, McCabe, Brodie and Liljegren. Giordano will also need some rest down the stretch. But Leafs dont have a top pair or bottom pair
Mccabe-brodie = shutdown pair
Rielly-liljegren = offensive pair to create as much possible offensive occasion
Gio-Holl = all around pair
Sandin will be sit because he still struggling defensivly and risky player and leafs already having rielly doing it
And i will not be surprise to see sandin being trade this summer with mccabe trade

It's like any business really... you deal with people you are most comfortable with. But in the end, the reality of it is Dubas is a buyer and Blackhawks are sellers. Natural marriage.Interesting how teams tend to go back to the same trade partners with some regularity. For Dubas, it seems to be Chicago and Arizona, and Vancouver to a lesser extent.
What's the condition on them? The two 5th rounders we got back also have sneaky value. Leaf 5th rounders from recent years; Grebenkin, Voit, Ovchinnikov, Koster, Kral.
Agreed. Being a selling team in the opposing conference right now should definitely be conducive to a trading partnership with a team like Toronto's.It's like any business really... you deal with people you are most comfortable with. Agreed. It's a small piece, but a smart piece of business. Recently I was criticizing Dubas for not replenishing picks often enough. The only method had been trading down and when he traded Kapanen, which was a great move. Getting these picks back here and there may seem like small potatoes but can really help. The two 5th rounders we got back also have sneaky value. Getting two picks with Murray, who has been LTIR fodder + decent in 20 games, is also an underappreciated move from his tenure.Agreed. It's a small piece, but a smart piece of business. Turn into 3rds if McCabe doesn't play enough next year. What's the condition on them?

It’ll be interesting to see how Sandin handles it if he’s the odd man out come playoff time. That’ll be two seasons where he’s played a majority of the regular season games and sat out in the playoffs…Youre right but i think every d will have some rest since end of season
But to start the playoff i think d geoup will be this one with sandin and timmins in case of injury
