The game turned when the Leafs started playing a better defensive game. You don't have to attack with 4 every time, especially against Mtl who generate most of their 5 on 5 opportunities on turnovers in the neutral zone.

Nylander needs to be given as many opportunities as he can handle right now, if he leans into it this can be the kind of season that separates his career into pre- and post-2022.

Marner was great. He carried that line by far. Tavares and Ritchie were pretty average overall, but Tavares got better by the end and also played a pretty rugged game.

The rest I agree.

Our 4th line can't continue to be that bad. They were struggling badly. Amadio was fine.

Good start. Ignoring whatever those first 7 mins were, we were the better team in the game afterwards. Nylander is another level and can't be stopped now.
PK was awesome especially the 5 on 3. Couple of A+ chances but thats going to happen. The crowd reaction to the kill was chilling and felt like old times. Only thing better would have cheering Dean's name lol.
When Engvall plays like this, he's a huge piece on this team.
Also come on fans at the game, booing Marner in the 1st game? Calm down. I'm a Marner detractor but thats over the top. He played well though and can be way better and he knows that.
Jack is a wall in net. Literally saved the game in the first 7 mins.
