Wow. Second line was fantastic and the stats match up with the eye test.

There's a big difference between "The Leafs sucked to start the game last night" (which they did) and "The Leafs regularly suck to start the game" (which they don't, even though it sometimes feels that way).

Lets see what happens tonight if the Leafs learned anything about being ready at puck drop.

Funny how a slow start for 7 minutes brought out the doomers. They had a couple in the preseason too, even against the sens.

It's much wiser to evaluate players and games on the whole game rather than snippets. That way you don't have to eat your words.

Overall we looked good. I was pleased with just about everyone's game.

Make it a 2-0 season tonight.

Second and third lines were our best of the forwards.

First line will get it rolling. Fourth line might need tweaking.

I thought the D was alright. Second pair needs to find their legs and bottom pair needs to believe in themselves.

Campbell was fantastic.

For a first game I’m happy enough.

The most disappointing part was the reffing, as usual. Not to say it was or wasn’t in our favour, it is just bad in general and needs an evolution.

This “slow start once again” narrative is lazy. Leafs led the league in first period goals last year.

Was it a crap start - you bet. Is it a trend - no sir.
1 game.

edit - Sorry was reading thread in order - it looks like someone else said the same thing.
Sorry but your wrong. There are many nights they suck in the first 5-10 minutes of the game and then turn it on.
Simply using the number of first period goals does not tell the complete story

Does anyone know the song that was played during the Leafs player introduction?
(Not Arkells - arm in arm)
