Haha is it possible to IMPROVE at this rate through next year though? He would be the best dman in the leage then.

The 2 best dmen in the WHL this year were Sanheim/Provorov, Provorov I could see in the NHL next year. I still think Sanheim is a better prospect than him though.

If Provorov is ready, there's a good chance Sanheim is as well. I think Flyers could definitely take him at #7, but I have a feeling he might get taken earlier. Some of the bottom teams really need high end defense in the their system. (That definitely includes the Flyers). Having said that We might need a young scorer, more at this point.

We have plenty of young talent in the defense ranks, we definitely need a forward more than another dman. Provorov is more ready for the NHL because he is much more physically mature. Sanheim definitely has much higher potential than him IMO, Provorov just seems like a steady guy with a high floor but a low ceiling. He doesn't do anything exceptionally well, unlike Sanheim.

Sanheim Provorov

That is a very nice group of defense prospects though :naughty:

I don't agree with you there. It is way to early to be making such a statement. I think they will both be as equally effective and great on the pp. Provorov would go higher if they were in the same draft.

If you're saying the Sanheim of last year, sure. If Sanheim had the year he's having now as a 17 year old, you'd see him go top 5.

1 goal 1 assist and a plus 3...tied for 2nd in playoff scoring..Brandon up next?

Yep, Brandon vs Calgary in the Eastern Final, Kelowna vs Portland in the Western Final. We get to see Provorov and Sanheim go head to head.

I think the Flyers are really deep in their defence prospect pool, and that Provorov will go top-6, but he'd be a hard pick to pass up at 7th.

Sanheim finally took a shot. My whole section at the game was screaming for him to shoot - both he and Bean were terrible for walking the blueline into a shooting position, then passing off. He finally just takes a shot in double OT and it found it's way through.

They get a week off before the Brandon series starts, so I think that should give Sanheim enough time to work through the injury I still think he's dealing with. Unfortunately Calgary no longer has home ice so I won't be getting a viewing until mid next week.

I think Hagg will be a solid bottom pairing as well

Season is now over.

Reg. Season 65 points in 67 games.

Playoffs 18 points in 17 games.

83 points in 84 games this year. Hell of a year.

Gonna be the best defensemen in that draft after Ekblad IMO.

Theodore only played 43 games. Who knows what happens in those other 24 games. ST is a great prospect as well.

Yeah, but would you say they're both actually better than Theodore, or did they just have better seasons because 43 games isn't enough to count?

The jury's certainly still out on the first question, but yeah, you could say Provorov and Sanheim had better seasons than Theodore. Hell, Mark Giordano played 61 Norris-level games this year and wasn't even nominated for the trophy. Playing a full season matters.

But my point is, are we talking about projections as NHL players or just evaluating their seasons?

I mean, he said "the two best defenders in the WHL this season", so I don't think he would have added the qualifier if he was making NHL projections.

Theodore is awesome, he is also a year older than Sanheim though.

outscoring Jake Virtanen the canadian ovechkin.

feel bad for nucks fans on that pick lol...good player but doubtful he'll ever score 50 points in the NHL.

Sanheim is a really really smart offensive defenseman though. Jumps up in the play like Karlsson.
