I love how he uses the catch all of decision making and defensive play, simply amazing stuff from a so called area scout. I know when I was scouting the QMJHL for FC I tried to see upwards of 100 games in a season. Yea I know, not close to some of the OHL guys. One think I knew for certain was that I wasn't watching many college games.

Hughes maybe bad defensively this year but this clown isn't watching him or he isn't doing his actual job. There are so many hacks working for that company. That became evident as they continue to attack Mukhamadullin to protect their rankings.

Remember when we used to hear about how players can learn the defensive side of the game? That what mattered most was their natural ability and processing speed of the game? With someone as talented as Hughes is with the puck on his stick and on the attack, I would love people to remember those times and think, yeah, there are things he still needs to learn but holy crap what he does with the puck is some of the most dynamic type of play.

From memory at the WJC the biggest flaw I see with Hughes was without the puck In his own end. He gets caught running around not exactly knowing what his responsibility is. That was early in the tournament not long after trying to learn a new system at Michigan. The Xs and Os of defensive play would be near last on my give an F scale. As long as he understands the principles of stick positioning, body positioning at his size, speed and reach he will eventually get there.

Decision making with the puck? This is a new one for me. Unfortunately I can't comment on it seeing that he didn't really turn the puck over outside a missed pass or two at the WJC.

Transition defense, once again at his size and speed gapping up should be relatively easy to mold. The reads become a little more tricky at the next level but almost all young defensmen have issues with this.

He’s a very well regarded scout on the Habs boards who works for Elite Prospects. He posts extremely detailed videos breaking down gameplay clips to show where his opinions come from. Extremely smart dude.
Well his tweet was click bait. How does he have time to presumably watch Habs games, do his job as a QMJHL scout but still have time to watch Michigan games. I call BS

No prospect is perfect at all facets of the game. Yeah Luke might not be the best at defending now but I’m sure he will improve just like how forwards point totals increase with age and experience people tend to forget that the same thing can happen for a players defensive game...I was skeptical about the Devils taking Luke to have leverage in signing Hughes long term. Luke has had an amazing season so far , I can’t really complain about this pick. He has been living up to his draft position 100% so far.

Someone who puts an 's at the end of Hughes. Honestly, I have no clue. Never heard of him and tried looking him up and he's a ghost.
He's a scout for elite prospect IIRC. He writes and does videos for EP rinkside. Also he's francophone I believe, so that explains the double s

Would have you posted it if he did?
How Luke Hughes can push his already great offence to the next level - EP Rinkside
He also wrote a pretty positive review on Huges (paywall though). He's more of a Q scout, but not only that. I think he focuses a bit more on habs prospects, but he's writing stuff on most top 60ish draft prospects/top prospects from every NHL teams. You can also check out EP rinkside youtube account. They post some 8-10 minutes long video analysing some players, focusing on one or two aspect of their games. It's good content in case you want to get a small read on one particular player. Often times he's the one doing those videos (you can hear his shitty english accent, .
