Tons of talents here obviously

but one thing i think he needs to change eventually is that he needs to play with his teammates more in the offensive zone instead of trying to do everything on his own

Now maybe he got a nod from his coach to play like this on the BU, but he would be need to change his style in the NHL. not even Makar or Hughes play like that in the offensive zone
For sure and that's why i think a year in the AHL will be necessary to help him transition. He is too good for college hockey. He won't be able to dominate one-on-one (or one-on-two) in the NHL the way he (and Cellebrini) does in college.

Problem is, when you are dominant, you just dominate. ;)

The thing I find amazing about Hutson is how much offense he produces while still only being an average skater. Great shot and offensive IQ for sure.

hes more than an average skater. He might be small so appear as if his skating is bad for his size but hes a good skater just not the fastest. And he can work on his back skating

Isn’t he a minus 5 on 5.

Doesn’t really seem like domination to me.

Wow so impressive at against Canada today. Good compete and fearless, excellent shifty skating and sharp puck handling. Hard not to believe he can’t succeed in the NHL. Can’t believe he fell out of the 1st.
He doesn't look as small as he did last year. A lot stronger this year and better defensively.

Yeah, I think as long as he maximizes his time in the weight room, he’s going to be Hughes like with puck possession at the NHL level, I think he is just too smart and competitive to not be at least NHL average defensively. I think the Canadians got a huge steal. I think he was the best player for USA today.

I wanted the Habs to take him at 25. The pick they acquired from Calgary. Never dreamed he would slide to the Oilers 2nd.

If he was drafted by a team other than Montreal I would have a lot more faith in him turning into a premier defenseman in the NHL. Habs just seem to bungle these things.

He’s just so bad defensively. And he’s a defenseman. His prospects are very fortunate he’s not asked to focus on defense whatsoever in Boston and is just worried about point totals.

His coaches in NCAA obviously prefer him playing how he plays... He will keep doing his thing there and then once he signs with Montreal, he will get ample time in the AHL to get stronger and work more on his defensive game before making the jump to the NHL.

It's what usually happens with all pure offensive dmen
