First of all, I’ve admitted to him having been very good in college. I’ve never taken that away. Maybe you should read the hundreds of posts before my post to see everything that was being said and responded to.

In one post, you had a Habs fan saying, “he’s literally Niedermayer. “. So, because of one good college season, he’s now a hall of fame player.

Another post said that until he comes up short in the NHL then he should be deserving of being discussed alongside the best dmen in the NHL. When I posted in response to that, he corrected himself and agreed and said he should be compared with their collegiate level seasons.

So, no, it wasn’t just people comparing their collegiate seasons.

He even admitted to it and retracted his statement, and then said he should only compare them to their college years. They are talking about comparable prospects at the same age. Why do you feel the need to take the conversation elsewhere, as if it helps your point?

I then told you to go back and read and you’ll see that the very post to which I responded to, did exactly that, and that the poster then retracted it after and said he should’ve only compared them based on their collegiate levels of play.

Then, after seeing that I was correct, you change it up by stating that I’m somehow obsessed with just a couple of posters comments. That right there should’ve ended it when you saw that you were wrong in your initial post to me. But no, you insisted on making it something other than what it was.

My “100’s of previous posts” comment was not included in my original post that you decided to tell me that I was wrong about. That was made in response to your post, telling you that you should probably read all of the 100’s of posts prior to telling me that I was wrong. I then also followed that comment up by pointing out two posts that proved my point in my original post.

Yet here we are, multiple posts later, you still not admitting you were wrong, even though you inadvertently admitted it in one of the above bolded posts. And yes, that’s 100% backpedaling because you went from making a point that everyone was only comparing them at their collegiate levels to it only being a couple of people comparing them beyond that, once I showed you that you were wrong.

You can continue acting as though you weren’t wrong in calling me out but it’s beyond clear at this point that you were and that you’re now backpedaling on your original point. Have fun with it because I don’t need to play into it any longer.

Relax. You’re getting worked up. I’m a big Hutson fan. He had a tough start to the year but was injured, explaining the poor play. Now he’s healthy and playing well. Not sure what is confusing, or what’s causing such a big reaction.

It is day 637 and the Lane Hutson debate is still not settled. Is he 5'8 or 5'10? No one knows for sure. Many of battles have been fought over this minor detail.
We will continue to draw broad strokes of comparisons and can only hope the arguments will finally settle - but that conclusion looks quite bleak at this point.
Will he boom? Will he bust? Everyone seems to know, but also not know at the same time. These are confusing days we live in. We will march on until he reaches the land of Montreal, and then we will critique every single play will utmost attention, and if he shall mess up, even once, then the bust-boys must have been right all along. The Boards will be flooded with "see, i told you he would bust!" and the vicious cycle will continue all over again.
Is he 5'8 or 5'10?
