More like Quinn Hughes is a poor man's Lane Hutson!!

Really, that good eh?Hope Hutson takes the full 4 years to develop himself in College and not rush to the AHL-NHL? But then again the game is changing rapidly, puck moving D-men that can QB an Attack from the back-end is wanted-needed by most teams! And if that D-man can play the PP all the better

A fair chance at a Torey Krug like player with a unlikely poor mans Adam Fox like ceiling.:thumbu:

Quinn Hughes is to much of a better skater for Hutson to be compared to him.
Can't complain with that result from a late 2nd round pick.

Poor man’s this, poor man’s that

It’s easy to see some other teams fans don’t want him to succeed

Let’s wait to see how he’s gonna be instead.
Saying he will play in the NHL at all is a success for a second round pick. Not being an out and out fanboy isn’t the same thing as wishing him ill. I agree with you that at this point it’s just a waiting game.

Hutson, Celebrini, and Eiserman on the same team is going to be really fun to watch.

Edit: Nvm seems like Eiserman will be joining the team in 24-25. Not this year.

Yup. Easy to say poor man’s this or that when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Not entirely.

It's hard to tell what any player will be.

Hutson could be better than Hughes, Fox, or even Makar.

Or he could struggle to be better than Chris f***ing Wideman.

Not entirely sure either way, however saying he's for sure going to be better than the aforementioned is being a homer and saying he's going to struggle to be better than Wideman is a hater, but it's all possible.

That’s the whole point that I am agreeing with. It’s hard to tell what any player will be, so let’s wait and see who he turns into before comparing him to already established NHLers. It’s easy to make a lazy comparison and say that absolute ceiling is a poor man’s Fox. Nobody has any idea what his ceiling is, so let’s wait and see.

Tbh Hughes got about the same skillset than Hutson when it comes to hands and vision. Hutson is a bit more decisive in his shot.
Hughes is more balanced but I agree that the skill set is right there with Hutson. Hughes isn't a defensive dynamo but just due to his frame and length alone he will be superior in his own zone.
