I get yzerman has sucked in a lot of ways as a GM but for Larkin to hold the fanbase that has supported you your whole career hostage is unbelievably pathetic. I want local media to crush him, and I don’t want any players coming to his aid during games. I would be fine with players giving him hell in training camp but I doubt that will happen.

Media does nothing. Their are at Ilitches leash and positive newsfeed is gonna sell season tickets again. All Larkin saga is gonna kept behind.

I personally dont have an issue with the full nmc/ntc. If gms want to hand them out, they know the risk.

On the reverse side, if the player wants to flex it that much and only give out a couple team list, we'll get ready to show up to camp bub

I think the biggest issue is, until recently, NMCs and NTCs were for the player's protection from a team-initiated trade. Players using it to demand out and pick a small number of teams that have nothing to offer the player's current team is some pretty epic douchebaggery, and I think that's why there are people who'd like to see a rule change.

I still like NMCs/NTCs for a player's protection. I think something will eventually be done to curb the weaponization of such benefits if they continue to be weaponized..

McLellan has stripped a captain of the C in his past. I can see him doing that once more, and he should, though not to make Larkin's life miserable. McLellan should do it to ensure the team has a leader who hasn't expressed their desire to quit.

Outside that, the only folks who will make Larkin's life miserable are the fans booing him.

We don't know if Utah is there, but Utah doesn't have to be there, if they still are the 3rd team with extra assets (for a Robertson 3-way-scenario). They have the best extra assets.

Like:

Larkin --> Dallas (he is ok to go there)
Robertson --> Utah
Utah pieces --> Detroit

And something else to even that out.

Still feels like a best scenario, if this is ok for Robertson to extend. Utah already did trade LW Peterka out from his way... it seemed like a preparing deal...
