Rumor: Larkin requests trade

The more different the team looks at the start of next season, the better. It’ll buy time for the GM and coach and renew interest among many fans, instead of running it back with only a marginal improvement as the goal. I hope trading Larkin is just the start (assuming he’s actually traded, of course).

Lmaooooo heard it in the car I couldn’t believe it 🤣 fans were already bitching about having to trade hage for Larkin in trade scenarios 😆

Guess what I said about trading Larkin 3 yrs ago and naming seider C finally gonna happen despite a lot of ppl bitching here at the time hahah

Tell you what he’s not dictating shit if I’m Yzerman after the crap he’s pulled and bitched about making no trades … we’re not pulling a debrincat for him … Robert Thomas demands were high so ours should be as well if not we make him suffer for two years

McTavish + McQueen +??
Make some moves and we trade for Robert Thomas?

What’s the plan ? Cause if we’re trading him for young assets sorry guys debrincat is a goner and so is faulk

You're right... we don't want to hear it from outside fans.

Also... Eichel left Buffalo because the Sabres and him fundamentally disagreed about a medical procedure that would impact his career. Not because they sucked. This is not that situation.
It's your space, your thread, but sorry, that isn't true. Eichel asked out 9 months BEFORE the injury. He even said so himself in an EF interview. His side of the story just became gospel.

If I’m Yzerman I’m telling Larkin if he wants out so bad he needs to voluntarily relax the NTC to give some flexibility.

If not, Larkin can stay. And if he wants to mope and sandbag in the Winged Wheel because he doesn’t get his way, he can become a pariah in his home town.
This is basically it, imo. Larkin and Yzerman are going to have to work together to get them both what they want. Larkin isn't going to accept a trade to just anywhere, and Yzerman sure as shit isn't going to be bullied. If they can't successfully thread that needle, Larkin will be back in the winged wheel next season for some major awkwardness.

Super glad we traded our 1st for a 34 year old :help:

Hopefully this means we can lean into rebuild 2.0. Because that is the best path to real contention.

Bro. This is crazy. I'm quoting you because I can't believe how the cascading effect of trading that 1st for Faulk has butterfly effected it's way to Larkin asking out. I must be really dumb because it's completely mindboggling. How do you trade a 1st, then two months later your captain wants out. I have no clue what Yzerman does here, but he does have a track record of situations like these when he was forced to trade Marty St. Louis out of Tampa when St. Louis only wanted to go to the Rangers, and that worked out for Tampa.

I'm flabbergasted because all of the discourse around Larkin seemed so farfetched to me, so I apologize to everyone who believed this was an actual possibility!
