Rumor: Larkin requests trade

Hopefully this reset will push Yzerman out too. It was painful watching the Larkin, Raymond, Seider negotiations...basically just after thoughts once Yzerman completed his summer vacation. I'd be more excited about this if this staff wasn't conducting the rebuild of the rebuild. Please just clean house and start over.

Reactions: Kaners PPGs
I don't think Larkin's camp has as much leverage as he thinks here. Yzerman will try to work with him to send him to a good spot but time is on the org's side especially since next season regardless is going to be a wash.

Its been frosty since before he made the comments.
Yzerman really shouldn’t be in charge of a reset. If that is what this brings on a new GM should be in place
Met Larkin at a Tin Roof after a wings game years in St. Louis. Larkin was never going to win in Detroit. He needs to be on a team that has set leadership to kick him in the ass and make him work. Failures in March and April prove this.

I get Chris wanted to keep Larkin because he’s a cash cow. Larkin should have been trade in 2021 or before. Yzerman will be hired again because I assume whole league knows Chris wanted to Larkin. Thus handcuffing Yzerman.

Where did you come up with all this nonsense

Never had the makings of a #1 center...

Anyone wishing this soft little English slang word I’d get in trouble for saying well is deluded. He’s a gutless whiner who can’t finish and he’s done nothing but validated all of his detractors and doubters thoughts with this pathetic stunt. This obviously didn’t come from Yzerman camp.

Detroit: this little British slang word just whined and dove and flopped when it mattered most the last few years, and he just spit in your faces and knee-capped us in trade negotiations. I wish him nothing but ill will and hope he never drinks from the Cup. It’s not for gutless whiners full of excuses and petty tears.

You can say plenty about Yzerman’s gaffs, but I’d say he’s been hobbled from day one having to build around this whiny little loser British slang word, handicapped by a hometown story and his moderate stats on a languishing team; the ashes of Holland’s failure to adapt to the cap era.

The upside is he’s soon to be unshackled. As pissed as I am for the incredibly disrespectful kneecapping by leaking this, this is absolutely for the best.

Good riddance.

As an outsider observer, I think Utah would be the best team to target. Desnoyers, Simashev, and two 1sts for Larkin and Cossa would be fair
They wouldn't give up that. They wouldn't give up those pieces for Thomas last spring. And goalies don't have the value of skaters. I know Larkin is on a nice contract but Desnoyers is a top 5 pick and after recovering from offseason surgery, he was lights out this season. I think McTavish and Mintyukov/Zell would be a good haul.

If Larkin won't budge then we strip him of the C and make his life hell. Yes he has a NTC but he is under contract with DRW and he must report to work if we don't get a deal we like...

I gotta be honest..seeing Larkin take the ice at LCA would be pretty damn hilarious. He'd accept a trade to Vancouver within the week.

YEP.

Please Mary mother of god, make this the opportunity to fire Steve, keep Dylan and get this org back on the f***ing road.
How anyone can watch Larkins play the last 3 years to end the season and make this about Yzerman is hilarious. Yzerman got the goalie, got a top 4 D at the deadline, Larkin went and played like a stud at the olympics and ghosted down the stretch AGAIN.

This team has a leadership problem, and Larkin requesting a trade might actually be the best thing for them to get back on track. Seider is wearing the C this year and things are gonna get a shake up

I don’t look at a three year window. I look at the entire book of work. Steve has been a f*** up as a DRW GM. Dylan in full Roberto Duran says No Mas.
