Makar would have done it if not for covid, 50 in 57According to Marc Dumont, no NHL rookie defenseman has hit 60 pts in a season since niklas lindstrom. Hutson is on pace for 62.
What Hutson is doing is unprecedented in the last 20-25 years.
Glad I was ALWAYS on the bandwagon.
In his last 11 games, Hutson has 3 goals, 8 assists and is a +7
In his last 8 games, he has 2 goals, 5 assists and is a +9
Chelios has Habs rookie D scoring record at 64 but keep in mind he joined Habs at tail end of season prior, as a 22 year old after 84 Winter Olympics and played 12 regular season games + 15 playoff games - had 27 NHL games experience prior to start of rookie seasonAccording to Marc Dumont, no NHL rookie defenseman has hit 60 pts in a season since niklas lindstrom. Ditto. I was pissed when they didn't take him with that pick. Then perplexed while I watched the next 30 + picks. I'll never understand how he was passed over. The first video I watched of him I could tell immediately he was different. On my mock draft list, I had Lane Hutson over Filip Mesar on the first round. I would like to send my curiculum vitae to the organization haha. But honestly, they were a lot of poster high on him on our board which influence on a right way my point of view. I think the organization should read some posters here
I don't know much about most prospects below the top 20 or so but I remember the hype around Hutson then and following who the Habs were drafting on that second day.Ditto. Well worth noting the overall quaity level of the opponents in those last 8, too.In his last 11 games, Hutson has 3 goals, 8 assists and is a +7

Everyone has to thank Kulak. Without his trade, we don't get Hutson.I don't know much about most prospects below the top 20 or so but I remember the hype around Hutson then and following who the Habs were drafting on that second day.
The board was really excited when he was picked. Great times.

Absolutely.Markov had a better shot by a mile though, both wristers and slapshots.
Markov was also a rock on defense.

He is absolutely brutal and seems to think he possesses knowledge beyond that of a mortal hockey fanYou gotta check out the Jack Evans thread on the Trade Rumours thread.
DGibb10, who seems to spend the bulk of his time pouring of spreadsheets trying to diminish players who aren't New Jersey Devils (you gotta see his hilarious nonsense in the Lane Hutson Burgeoning Star Thread) actually tried to claim that the Canadiens "arguably" lost the Brett Kulak trade.
I'm not kidding. He really did just say this!
This guy from the Athletic has Lane Hutson in 4th for the Calder.
