It does.Does anyone know if his playoff stats still count towards this year's total?

Depends on how much muscle he tacks on, college play is all about buying time for Hutson to add muscle & power, he’s NHL ready skill wise IMOIf you aren't excited for this player, I feel sorry for you. Next year will be more of the same. He arrives in Montreal at the end of next NCAA season.
Lane Hutson's next series will be 2 our of 3 or 1 game winner take all?
I agree for the most part as his puck skill and hockey IQ are phenomenal. He still has serious work to do on his back-skating and learning how to better use his assets to force attackers closer to the boards. When opponents attack the blue line he needs to find a way of effectively separating them from the puck instead of escorting them deep into the zone where they cam comfortably set up.Depends on how much muscle he tacks on, college play is all about buying time for Hutson to add muscle & power, he’s NHL ready skill wise IMO
He’s better than Hughes I don’t understand the comparison other than height
exactlyNo matter what's his future, what he's doing right now is very impressive.
I will up your “impressive” to “insane” lol Unbelievable actually. And? He’s ours! Be good brother! No matter what's his future, what he's doing right now is very impressive.
Wow.............the kid must have some big time talent..............
Curious if anyone on here, has actually seen him play?

I have watched as many of his highlites as possible, all I'm left with is he is doing this against collage opponents. Just cannot envision him doing it in the big league. Maybe his game will evolve and he will get stronger, no doubt he is superbly talented. Small and not speedy though.... in the NHL, I'm not sold. He will have to have his head on a swivel.I watched quite a few of @montreal 's videos. Offensively he's tremendous. There's no question marks there. Decent wrister too.
Defensively I haven't seen him look truly horrendous but he's hardly a stud. I've seen him make some nice D plays here and there but not being able to skate backwards is a handicap. He looks positionally awkward. For a freshman who's on the smaller side and not a speedster it's not worrisome to my eyes but he absolutely needs to get better.
I don't see why people think he should be done after his sophomore season. I totally wouldn't object to him staying all 4 years and working on the rest of his game. Getting faster, stronger and better defensively could very well take another 3 years. Unless he REALLY shores up his game fast. Even then though.
He has his question marks and they're not trivial but not to the point where you'd write him off. No way.
The big !0 was significantly better when Hughes was playing. Not sure it is this season.Hughes is a far superior skater and to outright claim Hutson is better than Hughes based entirely on stats is rather silly imo.
Hughes played in the Big 10 which is significantly better than Hockey-East and people on this board never seem to want to take that into consideration.
This is not at all to say that Hutson can not be better than Hughes but he definitely is not better than him right now and is not better than Hughes at the same age.
Not this season, but I watched him play for two years here for the NTDP (have season tickets). He was impressive here, but I certainly didn't expect this in his freshman NCAA season. Watched Quinn Hughes for two years here too, and would rank Hughes ahead of Hutson based on both guys play here.Wow.............the kid must have some big time talent..............

I think he ends up a bit of a Hughes lite which would be fantastic value in the 2ndNot this season, but I watched him play for two years here for the NTDP (have season tickets). If he was in his junior or senior year I'd be more inclined to agree. And you very well could be right. But as a freshman it's something else. When you're producing like that, those are the types of players that more than likely make the leaps to get them where they need to be.I have watched as many of his highlites as possible, all I'm left with is he is doing this against collage opponents. The Big 10 is easily....and it isn't very close, the best group in the NCAA. Just take a look at the names in the top 10 scorers in every league and you can clearly see the talent gap. This season is absolutely no different than others in that sense.
I am not sure that most posters know this as they never mention it other than the poster Montreal and a handful of others. If Luke or Quinn Hughes played in Hockey East they very well may have out scored Hutson. Fox was in an even weaker ECAC so I am not trying to dismiss Lane's numbers but there is certainly some context that needs to be added to the conversation.
Absolutely zero obsession with Jabba the Hut(son), but go with that.Man, tone it down. There's liking a prospect, there being a fan, being a huge fan, obsessing over a prospect and then there's YOU!
You're close to getting a No Contact Order , breathe bud that's an unhealthy obsession you got going.
Hey, it's not an insult, just an observation.Maybe but I'd rather be skinny than overweight and I play a lot of sports to stay that way
Luckily for me I'm a goalie lolHey, it's not an insult, just an observation.
I'd rather be skinny right now than overweight like I am, but, at 5'7", and 170 lbs, I was fit as a fiddle. At 200lbs+, I'm now definitely fat as fudge.
However, fit at 170lbs for that height has a lot to do with body type, shoulder width and muscle mass.
The legs potentially provide the heaviest muscles -- just look at St-Louis' legs!
A tall guy with twigs as legs is not a solid person on skates, but it's even worse for a short guy with twigs as legs -- he's just a leaf blowing in the wind out there on the ice.
