I'm actually starting to believe Hutson never really existed at all
If this paragraph was a movie. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.I watched Sam Pollock do some amazing things. Serge Savard to a lesser extent. After Savard it has been a disaster up until now. Hughes is brilliant, as is Gorton.
Bergevin hires Therrien, Gorton hires Hughes. Nuff said.
That is such a perfect nickname for Lane HutsonArtfully dodged the real issue, Hutson photoshopped and deep faked Quads.
He's never gonna be a beast along the boards but if Quinn Hughes and Adam Fox can turn into good (not just average) defensive playesr, I have faith Hutson can do the same.I like the idea, but what if Hutson IS great offensively but not that useful in his own zone?
'Cause with his size combined with his difficult backward skating/pivots, there's a possibility that Hutson become an offensive specialist.
Sometimes if you try too hard to turn a frog into a bull, you'll make the frog loose his qualities while never be able to turn him into a bull...
With the last management crew, they were specialists at trying to fit every young player into a certain mold (Gallagher's mold?), with very limited success in terms of development.
The fittest survive, not the most stubborn...
Hughes and MSL have shown a great deal of adaptability since their arrival.
I want this to continue.
P.S.: yes, for sure Hutson will ameliorate his defensive play.
But at the end of the day, with his toolset, I don't think it will eventually become a strength for him.
We have to take him for what he is: a fantastic offensive player that gonna help the team in that department.
For the rest, it will be on management to adapt their decisions accordingly.
Man some are sleeping on Lane Hutson.
"Hiding" him, starting in the AHL, offensive specialist, poor pivot/backward skating, etc.
He is an obvious elite/star talent and you want him on the ice as much as possible as only a few defenseman in the league can move the puck like him. He generates offense from nothing and often starting from his own zone.
He is an absolute problem for the other team when he is on the ice, not for his team because he is small, some have it reversed here.
I argued last year at the same date a lot on this board for Slafkovsky as i thought he was an obvious star in the making. Lane Hutson is even more obvious and evident then Slaf was. He will be touted as our best defenseman very early and he will be an immediate big impact player. It is written black on white.
People are sleeping on the obvious photoshops on his legs and deep fake videos.
They will absolutely hide Lane Hutson sometimes it inevitable.
I get what he's saying but it explained poorly.

Are you still pushing this? Come on man.The pic was obviously altered....."photoshopped" may not have been the correct term but it was clearly tampered with or is your bias so blinding that you think that the intentional use of filters in that pic was merely a coincidence. The second photo that was posted that you laughably cited as evidence that the first was legit is a real pic and his legs are clearly smaller in that photograph.
He has obviously made some significant gains from the look of the second photo but people claiming that those are big legs clearly have never played the game as many of us had bigger legs in Bantam.
Anyways.....nice to see that he has been making progress as it should greatly help his explosiveness, balance and his ability to backskate as his tiny legs and butt were serious problems.
You've been watching too much porn. That is a common refrain in that industry. Are you still pushing this? Come on man.
It’s called angles and lighting.
Oh man…You've been watching too much porn. That is a common refrain in that industry.
I don’t buy that for a second. Why wouldn’t we?During the season sure it will be fun to watch, but you won’t win during the playoffs with that
At present, we can afford to be patient, with promoting Hutson, Reinbacher, and Mailloux.IF Hutson is indeed starting the year in the NHL
Then Savard 'will' be the partner
Only reason Guhle is playing RD is because Mailloux/Reinbacher aren't ready yet and because Matheson is de-facto LD1 still and kind of 'in the way' (which is the main reason a lot of us want to trade him at all) and Savard is not an RD1 at this juncture of his career
But the plan is not to keep Guhle as an RD permanently
I'm still not 100% convinced Hutson starts the season in the NHL, but not because he's not ready or anything but again just because of the luxury of all this D still right now
I'm on record that I want Hutson-Reinbacher to be our Top AHL D pair and see what they got for 30-40 games
I think we start the year
Matheson - Guhle
Harris/Struble/Xhekaj - Savard
Harris/Struble/Xhekaj - Barron
7th D : One of Harris/Struble/Xhekaj on any given night
Depending on injuries to whichever LD or RD, Hutson or Mailloux gets called up
(Keeping Reinbacher In AHL for the brunt, which I think will be instrumental for his development)
If a player carries the puck a lot and is one who generates offense he will tend to have a lot of give aways compared to a low offense low risk player as a generalityHe continues to cough the puck up when pressured in his zone trying to make very high risk plays, is still weak on puck battles along boards & in front of the net, but his what +39(?) was the result of his strength … driving puck possession offense not defending
Waiting for camp to see what his and Koivu's are.The pic was obviously altered....."photoshopped" may not have been the correct term but it was clearly tampered with or is your bias so blinding that you think that the intentional use of filters in that pic was merely a coincidence. Fla with Forsling/EkbladPens won a cup with Letang/Gonchar

Edm had Nurse and Bouchard as their top D.
We will be more than fine with Hutson, Reinbacher and Guhle as the main constituent of our D core.
