HF needs to come to terms with the fact that the prototypical elite defenseman is no longer a big bruiser like Stevens or Pronger. They're now elite skaters with insane edgework, an uncanny ability to read and anticipate play, and turn on a dime to backcheck. Fox, Makar, and Hughes are the type of defensemen dominating the league these days and Hutson is of a similar mold.

Doesn’t take a lot of effort to go read other thread and find those type of comments about Hutson from other teams fanbase.

It never was. Those two are just as unique as Hutson is, especially Pronger. Name one other D who could do all the shit Pronger did. I’m struggling to come up with one.

He was elite offensively, elite defensively, made his teammates around him better, elite passer, cannon of a shot, brutally physical, elite in transition, elite power play quarterback, a leader, and one of the nastiest, meanest players in NHL history on top of all of it.
