That’s too bad, it’s like revisiting your childhood in the 80s.

BMX bikes with no helmets and just throwing them on the lawn? Ghostbusters costumes for Halloween? Movies where kids tackle lethal dangers and the parents are sort of oblivious?

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has these vibes also.

And Leafs win.

McLellan isn't likely to win you a Cup, but he could get them back to the playoffs (although maybe not this season). That's a step in the right direction.

He can get a team rolling all four lines if he has the personnel, decent at instituting a structure. He just cannot make adjustments to save his life, and that's been consistent throughout the three teams he's been the HC of.

McLellan's messaging is 100% better than Lalonde. He actually sounds like he has a clue of both what is going on and what are some viable steps to take, going forward. Plus, never having to hear another Lalonde sound bite and the words "underlying numbers" is worth the coaching change, alone.
He may sound like he has a clue but he really doesn't.

There's a few guys I would have expected to see ahead of McLellan. I'm mostly surprised nobody has pushed the Quenneville button yet.

Definitely seems like the move lit a spark. People are shitting on the hire but you guys have no idea how bad Lalonde was. We would get blown out in games and during the presser his response would be “well the analytics say we won on paper”

THE EXCELLENT REDWING PODCAST 'WINGED WHEEL POD' ON THE FIRE/HIRE WHY'S N FEASIBLE RESULTS . THOROUGH DISCUSSION INCLUDING MAX BULTMAN GUESTING :

I'll bite. What moves would that be? The Jeannot trade is literally the only blemish on his record and everyone knew it was stupid from the moment it happened

Signing Sergachev to an 8 year deal and then trading him in the first year for a significant underpayment? Start with that.
