The first 10 years of Suzuki's career are going to be excuses because of the team around him being to bad for him to succeed then last 5 will be excuses about if He was only younger.

But there will always be excuses why he isn't a 1C.

He's not near as good as PLD.
That’s just “The nature of things “ in the NHL…… I bet he gets cancelled out of Montreal and leaves town depressed and dejected like Drouin or Kid Lester!

How long is too long, pretty ambiguous?
Now , 1, 2, 3 , 4 season?
I like Terry but PLD is more hard nosed, danger area player.
Sure Blake paid a premium to make sure he got the exact player he has wanted for some time.
Apple to an Orange comparison.
Also who are the 3 centers below Terry?
I can't even think of their names.

LOL...for habs fans that were 'happy' they didn't get him, they sure like to keep talking about it.
LOL!

Time to flash the pics of the GP race with CC, NS and PLD...LOL
I think that was the point where the habs fans thought..."it's done, he'll be a hab" ...LOL

it seems like PLD wanted to go to the Habs but the Habs were too arrogant and wanted him for free. You snooze you lose. They could have had a good francophone player who wanted to be in Montreal.
That's the same logic HFBoard has as well. No point trading for the guy, we'll just sign him for free next off season. Can't even think of time that actually did happen.

That is very very good centre depth.
it's a nice distraction for how awful our goaltending is

I think that is part of it, but once it became evident that there was more than one team he would go to and sign with I am sure the Jets and Habs circled back. Think it mostly boils down to futures vs current players. Jets want to stay in the mix for a playoff spot.

I'd prefer Hughes stays arrogant than give up a package/contract like "humble Rob" Blake did

I don't think the package is the problem as much as the fact that it seems the LA had more important holes to fill and when you acquire the guy you have to give him massive term and money. I could be wrong but my understanding is that the Kings now have no money to do anything else.
