GMs pay for physicality and draft pedigree
Puljujarvi wasn't getting a kings ransom with his draft pedigree. Neither were Taylor hall and yakupov

So that'll change his work ethic? This may be one of the worst posts I have ever read.
I agree with him. Look at Kadri when he got sent to the Avs. He went all world Messier level after leaving that dumpster in Toronto. Maybe PLD goes into prime Kopitar mode.

Has there been any word in Winnipeg on Vilardi and Kupari’s contract asks?

You would think Winnipeg would’ve had some inkling of what the contract asks were prior to making the trade. I know they’re busy trying to trade other people off the roster, but I thought we’d be hearing some rumors about the contracts.
I believe they are asking a trade out of Winnipeg as their first request. Maybe Nurse for those 2?

Yes, that's exactly what is going to happen. Because when you play/work where you're happy, you tend to give more effort. You know, human nature crap.
What happens when life hits and things inevitably don’t go his way? Pout until he gets his way again? The grass isn’t always greener on the other side and people who have the mentality that it is set themselves up to be disappointed every time. He isn’t going to be happy all the time just because he’s living in sunny California. And he’s shown he’s a snowflake whenever he faces adversity. That’s what made him super unattractive to a market like Montreal.

people think Dubois career has been 45 seconds long.

I wouldn’t worry Kings fans. He will be a fan favorite pretty quickly.

Habs didn’t pass, they failed because they don’t have the assets.
Yea they do, in fact, compared to what was given up, we may have the better assets. Plus we had 31,37 to trade, we have a lot of NHL defense and several great forward prospects.

PLD isn’t turning into a 100 point centre, they got a 70 point centre for 8.5. No thanks. We have those already. PLD was looking for money, that’s it.

Ironically Kadri is COL is probably the best example of what PLD potential is on a contender. 2C, net front PP, responsible both ways and jerk to play against

Habs can’t match what the Kings gave. That’s a fact. The Habs are so short on talent 38 points is impressive To the fan base these days.

After 10s of thousands of post just on HF and hanging off every media report, rumor, or picture at F1, Hughes failed the fans. What a let down. Now there is nothing left but stalking PLD posts and angry coping.

It’s to bad you guys were all tricked by that idiot LeBrun who got used by Hughes and his rookie negotiating tactics. After all that build up what a let down. If you had a better GM you guys would have PLD. But Hughes is an amateur. It’s going to be a long crappy rebuild filled with starts and stops and ultimately another GM or two before the Habs get to the playoffs again. I was hoping better for you guys. The league is better with a competitive Habs team. Too bad we won’t see that for a long time.

It’s really time to stop lashing out at fans of other teams and writing angry messages to your top draft pick and direct your anger at the GM and organization that let you down. Striking out on PLD and settling on a player the Avs gave up on for a 1st AND 2nd will be one of the steps to Hughes tucking tail and heading back to being an agent where he belongs and then maybe the Habs can get a GM who has a clue.

Cause Columbus, where nobody wants to play after a season or two sent him to the equivalent of the Canadian Columbus. He's in Manhattan Beach now, it's like discovering plutonium by accident
aaah plutonium...a greyish radioactive metal that tarnishes when exposed to air and forms a dull coating. Describes PLD perfectly.

I saw the game where he gave up…or I should say I saw the clips on TSN. His dad works for the JEts. I immediately thought….’this will frustrate his dad’.

Then the Jets traded for him and I thought ‘His mom and dad live in town, this will be good.’

I’m so glad this guy is gone. I like my Jets….and I didn‘t like this guy. So goodbye.

The leafs were in better shape during the Kadri era than the kings are now. So PLD basically goes from one fringe playoff team to another. Calling the kings contenders with multiple prehistoric players past their prime isn't exactly correct. Panda bear who couldn't even coach a generational player in Edmonton, then got his ass handed to him the last 2 playoffs vs the oilers doesn't help. Adding a lazy player summed up by that 45 second shifts isn't going to move the needle.

Getting paid millions being on a crap team means you can coast around. Some people like that kind of attitude. Is that how you behave at work? Maybe Bedard should do that all season then request a trade to Edmonton. Imagine McDavid and Bedard on the PP. That human nature crap will definitely be next level.

Sorry, I was speaking to that type of role and point ceiling on a good team, not specifically to LA. But I get your point.

I heard the Jets have forced their new players to go ice fishing and they can’t return until they sign team friendly contracts. Teams have to work with what leverage they have to get things done.

I do not think LA is a cup contender but not because of "prehistoric players". Kopitar is still a top line center by most metrics in the laegue. Doughty is at worse a good top 2. Other than that, who else is old?

What is holding LA back is in net and Panda (as you indicated).

PLD can be very effective, and although I am not for this deal because of need, I think there is evidence of where when motivated he can be a game changer. Is there concern or some risk, absolutely. But there is with Evander Kane as well, and he is fitting in good. Players grow up, and I am going to withhold all judgment on PLD being some sort of lazy player, or premadonna till I see him play for a bit.

I still chuckle about the story buff (or helle?) tells about taking peluso ice fishing and he shows up in dress shoes lol

Something like that... my memory is fading

Alrighty, way to take it up a notch. Obviously every situation is different, and PLD is the only athlete ever to not want to play for a certain team or whatever. And this is coming from somebody that has Evander Kane on his team, at least PLD's teammates never made public statements that he is POS.
