If Vilardi stays healthy, and PLD continues his same level of play we've seen in Winnipeg. This trade could end up looking really bad for LA.

Iafallo is underrated. You can put him anywhere in the lineup and he can make up for linemate's defensive shortcomings. He was very good in the playoffs also.

Yeah no....I gotta chime in on this one.

It may have only been for a few weeks but the level of smug, self righteous "Well we'll just get him for free next summer LOLZ" was enough to leave an impression.
One poster does not represent the entire fanbase. Perhaps you are too sensitive to be on these boards?

I think trading Vilardi has more to do with his contract demands than it does for the caliber of player he's returning.
Its weird, the trade arguably makes LA easier to play against for a bit of an offensive boost but like...its weird.

As an Oilers fan, I don't get this for LA. The guys going away were such a pain to play against. I would not make that trade if I was LA
We have a dumb f*** GM who’s trying his best to save his job in the worst way possible. He’s an idiot. There is no reason to trade Vilardi

Like I said in the other thread:

Jets still have Josh Morrissey (one of the top d-men last year) and elite forwards in Ehlers and Kyle Connor and a lot of good complementary pieces.

Yep, they certainly could have gone for a rebuild but are just turning over their aging core for new blood and a new culture.

Jets will not be as good but they do have some solid prospects that will soon be knocking on the door.
its seems like the jets have been knocking on that door forever now ... i love watching games in the building and intend on watching a game once their ... but i feel for the fans

Unless Vilardi is asking for the moon idk why they trade him. I know his injuries are always a concern but he was finally putting it all together

PLD is a guy who gives up when things get tough. Combine that with losing a guy like Vilardi and even a great role guy like Iafallo... I like this from an Oilers perspective
