Nah. they are giving up nothing of significance. Winnipeg would have been better served to go after futures but the owner is too effing cheap to do a rebuild.
lmao @ all of the habs fans going "well we can just take him for free instead of doing a trade" and then he goes to LA
Its insanity.Wow Jets hit the jackpot. Giving up on Vallardi so soon is going to backfire on LA. This kid is the real deal.
They still have Connor, Ehlers, Morrissey, Lowry as core pieces, some interesting young roster pieces in Barron, Samberg, Gustafsson, Perfettii, with Heinola and Chisholm banging at the door on D, plus prospects in Lambert, Lucius, McGroarty, Rashevsky, Salomansson to go along with Valardi, Kupari and Iafallo, plus whatever we return in Scheif and Helly trades, our 18th as well as some solid top 4 D in Pionk, Demelo and Dillion, and to a lesser extent in Schmidt that we can use as trade pieces if need be, plus have a ton of cap space to play with to make additions and sign a decent goalie tandum, and/or take a player for free from a cap strapped team Instantly become younger, turn the core over, new player leadership, retool on the fly.Winnipeg wants NHL pieces, but why?
They're about to lose Hellebuyck and Scheifele too
They should go with prospects and picks instead
They have lots of good players. And if they lose those 2 they will get good players in return. They are years away from a rebuild .Winnipeg wants NHL pieces, but why?

yeah that's exactly what i'm sayingIt's really starting to get boring endlessly correcting this nonsense only to see it pop up again.
What you are "joking" about here is an entirely manufactured narrative.
If you go tot he Montreal forum, you will see, by an overwhelming majority, that Canadiens fans *did not want to trade for Dubois.*
You will also see, repeated ad nauseam, that if Dubois *really wants to be a Montreal Canadien* then the team could circle back if and when he became a free agent, and if he didn't hit free agency, so be it, losing out on a 65 point forward with a checkered track record isn't exactly an issue.
You seem desperate to create a false narrative where HFBoards Canadiens, as a collective, were smug and self assured they were getting him for free and now they have egg on their face and you don't seem to know, or even care, that what you're saying is totally manufactured and false.
Yeah no....I gotta chime in on this one. It's really starting to get boring endlessly correcting this nonsense only to see it pop up again.

Without Wheeler, and maybe with some surprises out of training camp, Winnipeg can easily end up being a better team than last year. Helle still a wildcard, but perhaps a good year and new culture change things. They still have Connor, Ehlers, Morrissey, Lowry as core pieces, some interesting young roster pieces in Barron, Samberg, Gustafsson, Perfettii, with Heinola and Chisholm banging at the door on D, plus prospects in Lambert, Lucius, McGroarty, Rashevsky, Salomansson to go along with Valardi, Kupari and Iafallo, plus whatever we return in Scheif and Helly trades, our 18th as well as some solid top 4 D in Pionk, Demelo and Dillion, and to a lesser extent in Schmidt that we can use as trade pieces if need be, plus have a ton of cap space to play with to make additions and sign a decent goalie tandum, and/or take a player for free from a cap strapped team Instantly become younger, turn the core over, new player leadership, retool on the fly.
This would be a great start to the Jets offseason.

Because rightly or wrongly, True North's goal is to make the playoffs every year.Winnipeg wants NHL pieces, but why?

That could be it.I think trading Vilardi has more to do with his contract demands than it does for the caliber of player he's returning.
