Pretty terrible for my Kings unless PLD turns himself into a #1 center by realizing a sizable production increase, developing any semblance of a defensive presence, or both.
Really? Cause they were doing so much with the assets they gave up. Pretty insignificant. They need a few other things, but that's a different story.

I'm indifferent but I think finally playing in a location HE wants to be in will make a difference. He clearly didn't enjoy playing in Columbus or Winnipeg and maybe that hurt him mentally.

If that's the case, what happens when he doesn't want to be in LA if they aren't good enough for him? He's going to play like he played for Columbus and Winnipeg? Players like him are very bad news for teams.

I do hope he plays well for LA though. I like their team and their fans seem like good people too.

Jets move out a player who didn't want to play for them and quit on his team for 3 NHL ready players that can immediately be inserted into their line for game 1 next season. I think the Jets made out really well given their hands were tied.

He's been an unbelievable playoff player. That's why teams want him.

He stops scoring and gets scored on all over the place in the playoffs.

He's got negative xGF% and actual GF% in the playoffs with a historic offensive zone push.

We'll he just committed to an 8 year deal and they are clearly a playoff contender that also has some really good prospects on the way/developing.

Even after this trade they still have Byfield, Turcotte, Clarke.

Not worried about PLD producing in LA. He'll pair up with Fiala and get 70+pts . Same was said about Danault who only has 2 less goals than Suzuki since the trade.

Watch a game. He's been beastly physically. He was Winnipegs best player against Vegas. He was unreal against Tampa and Toronto when Columbus beat them. Especially going up against matthews. I get it you just wanna look at charts. But there's a reason nhl gms want this guy. It's not an accident they are professionals who actually watch the games.

Where are all the Habs' fans that said the JEts had to take what they offered?
Scraps do no get you PLD.
Yup. Mtl doesn't have the assets and PLD never wanted to go there to begin with. All part of the negotiations. I would also tell MTL fans that Price has been perfectly healthy the past 2 years but I don't think they want to hear that either.

Lol…I love people here who haven’t even watched the kings players…keep up the good work …Valardi, 24, is awesome, but played 63 games and has had a history of back issues, is he over it for good.? Who knows. He shot 19% , that won’t be sustainable….good player, tough to see him go. Does 63 games make you feel warm and fuzzy? Btw, he’s a winger not centre. Iafallo, 29; Swiss Army knife, but at $4M, he was a luxury, Moore will take over that role. Kupari,23,….nothing, super fast but nothing. 2nd round …ahh that sucked! Now PLD, 25, …best player in the trade. 2C on playoff team, entering prime, needs to work faceoffs and two game
Definitely a home run or strike out swing …but it’s not as one sided as most ppl on here will believe, same ppl said the same about danault and he’s been fanastic!
As a Jets fan that is happy with this deal, PLD is being heavily undervalued in this thread.

He had a very good season last year where for big parts of it was easily our best player. When he is on and physical he can take over games. Still young still developing consistency. Could see him being an 80 point player over the next couple of seasons and maintaining that point level for most his career.

Up until the last quarter of last season, any and every jet fan would have been over the moon if we could’ve signed PLD to 8x8.5 contract

Agreed. It all hinges on whether Pierre-Luc wants to play. He is a unique talent and can be elite+ when he's on his game.
