27 goals and 60 points is a star player now?
And 4 less goals in 18 less games is apparently redundant.

I agree that Blake is building another line of offense. But with the new contract, expectations for PLD are considerably higher now and I hope he finds another level like Matthew Tkachuk did this year. PLD has some big shoes to fill, they will become even bigger when Kopitar retires. He's going to be the center responsible for leading the pack. Otherwise it's a pretty inflated contract for a really good (but not a superstar) player.I don’t believe LA believes in number one number two number three lines. I believe that they’re building another offense of line
As of this year Kopitar, PLD and Danault lineup down the middle
Next year it might be PLD, Byfield, Danault
In five years, it might be Byfield, PLD, Turcotte.
No matter what they got a big, fast pivot, signed for the next eight years. The first two years of the contract might be a little high, but as the cap goes up, it will look like a bargain contract. Of course something could happen and we flatline the cap like it has been the last three years and then yes it is an overpayment or it could be $100 million in four years as predicted and then it’s a bargain.
Only the future will tell.
I just hope that he has another step in him and evolves into that 75 to 85 point two way center. He is a big guy that’s been around a long time, just hitting prime years and has all the physical tools needed to take that next step. It would be nice to see it happen.
He's only 20 and the scouting reports had him taking longer to develop than the others in the top 5. I don't understand why so many people are giving up on him.Think his potential is wasting regardless of where they play him.
Cole Perfetti missed the last two months of the season as he could have had a breakout year, he was on a roll up until his injury in the middle of February.Perfetti is top 6 all day long on the jets. You might want to change that. He's going to be the top scorer on this team within the next few years. Iaffalo will be 3rd liner.
No, quite the opposite. You think it cost LA a lot really? I think the Jets could have gotten a lot more,a lot more! Personally I thought this was going to be 12-13 player deal with PLD,Hellebuyck and Stanley going to LA! I guess the Kings didn't have what they wanted or LA was not parting with the likes of Byfield,Bjornfot,Kaliyev...
Then, be glad that you don’t have to watch himPLD is the most overrated pouting turd this league has ever seen.
With the amount of Edmonton fans who are bashing this deal for L.A they must be nervous.
Vilardi’s nhl future is definitely on the wing. If Winnipeg tries to put him at center they will regret it.Winnipeg might hope Vilardi, Perfetti or Barron becomes a full time center.
The point is that there was no competition. While I don't think much of any of the players the Jets got there was no need to give up that much unless they wanted to get rid of them . Vilardi and a 2nd should have done it. I see MB in this. Bidding against nobody AGAIN. A complete imbecile

Because at age 26 Dubois will finally find his nutsack while sitting on the sand in Manhattan Beach. OBVIOUSLY.How is that exactly? For one Viliardi and Iafollo were probably LAs best forwards in the series this year.
For two, Dubois is absolutely awful versus Edmonton; 2 goals, 5 assists and minus 8 in 16 career games against us.
He may resign but Jets fans have been on his case the last two seasons for him not bringing it every night. If Mark brought it every night he would be a top 15 center in the NHL hands down.I'd bank on Scheifele re-signing, actually. The team has never implied they wanted to move him, but the guy needs to buy in.
It's a home run for Wpg, and I'm higher on pld than most seeminglyI'm gonna go against the grain and say this is a pretty shitty trade for WPG.
Iafallo had a fluke series, guy is an okay player but nothing to write home about. How is that exactly? For one Viliardi and Iafollo were probably LAs best forwards in the series this year.

I don't know. It's very possible that Vilardi busts, Iafollo is pretty much a salary dump, and Kupari is a good 4th liner. That 2nd round pick might be the only thing of value this time next year. It's a home run for Wpg, and I'm higher on pld than most seemingly
I cant believe people dont like this for L.A if its true lol. Dubois is a true difference maker, there are very few players that can impose their will on a game like he can when he is firing on all cylinders. The heavy game with the offense, defense and physicality is few and far between.
Welcome to Winnipeg Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, and Gabriel Vilardi.
You're going to love it here!
They need to ice a competitive team in Winnipeg. Fans are already tuning out.Taking roster players is a long term disaster for Winnipeg. I bet none of those guys are on the roster in four seasons.
Well Dubois is a force maybe you should be looking bigger picture than just the games against your team. How is that exactly? For one Viliardi and Iafollo were probably LAs best forwards in the series this year.

Think it goes more to general mindset and mentality. If he can't bare leaving in SoCal as a multi millionaire at his age, then maybe he should get his head checked
Not to be rude but he went from living in two of the more undesirable cities in the NHL (I've heard good thing s about Columbus but its a better fit for married guys w/ kids) now hes in Los Angeles.
